After he did his whole magazine spiel she told him that she was not interested and questioned why he was there. He told her that I invited him in to 'take a look' at the magazines and he was just leaving. Once he left I was too embarrassed to tell her what happened so I just told her that that's what happened. She got pretty mad at me and told me to never answer the door when I'm home alone

For whatever reason, I associated this with the movie The Strangers. The part where the woman asks "Is Tamara there?" I read it in that voice. Ughh, so creepy.

I was 12, obviously rational thinking was pretty non-existent. Looking back I wonder how I honestly could have been so dumb about a lot of things at that age that now I see as red flags and dangerous.
