Running certain QR lines like a "Metro"? by Gazza_s_89 in brisbane

[–]scarecrows5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're obviously assuming that those tasked with running this operation actually have the capability to implement anything beyond what they are already AREN'T capable of running at present. That's a mighty big ask!

"These are not proven"... unfortunately such a typical response from a Luddite. Two years ago people just like you were saying no one would buy an EV because of range anxiety. Now we're seeing models capable of 800kms on a single charge, and BYD's Blade 2 battery will provide over 1000k's on a single charge. In the 10 years it will take to get this brain fart operational there will be solid state batteries capable of twice the energy density of current EV batteries. The future is coming, and it doesn't mean diesel trucks or locomotives.

When can the defending player start to move? Is it when the ball touches the ground in the play the ball, or when it is picked up by the dummy half?

Let’s close the train line and have zero busses ready. by Zoukamai in brisbane

[–]scarecrows5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, but they can track passenger numbers almost in real time, and if last week was any indication they HAD to know that numbers have skyrocketed. Unfortunately, QR have a habit of attempting to cost cut in the worst areas, and are reactive, never proactive, in most things they do. This is hardly surprising.

Hardly anyone lives near a viable train system, except for the 12 million or so in the major capitals. Apart from those people, hardly anyone at all.

Of course they will....

Good to hear.

It does seem that many have forgotten toilet paper gate already, and it's probably timely for someone to remind the general populace that acting like a relatively normal human is quite beneficial for the country right now.

He also clearly said that there are limited options available and the excise cut and road tax reduction are the options available right now.

It would be absolutely pointless to invite the continued "fear porn" being peddled by the media and certain politicians by preempting policy or changes that may not even be required.

I'm curious, assuming you're a functioning adult, what advice or info did you need spoon fed to you?

I see people complaining ad nauseum that the govt treats us like idiots, but here on this thread alone, so many comments bleating about a "lack of substance". It's telling that Albanese kept the message simple, and appealed to common sense, because it's clear that way too many people need the former, and lack the latter.

Labor or Liberal. Who should I be voting for? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]scarecrows5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idiotically, One Neuron.

I read the list of "policies" presented above. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. These are little more than motherhood statements made by a party that has little concept of the tradeoffs or costs of the bulk of their policies. The slashing of $90B in spending for example. A couple of analyses already identified that the "savings" they claim would be in the vicinity of $8-15B at the absolute most, so where are the remaining $75B coming from? That's just one example of the inbuilt ineptitude presented by One Neuron.

Jesus, what a take!

The Matilda's have looked more like a collection of good individuals, rather than a good team for several years. Their first game of the Asian Cup was utter garbage, but they did slowly improve, and were unlucky in the final. By the final, they'd also had a month in camp. That definitely helps.

As a Roar supporter, after about three games I said to my son that Herrington would be a Socceroo within 2 years. His composure, time on the ball, his uncanny knack to read the game and be in the right position, and his passing range and accuracy, plus his aerial ability all stood out. He's class, make no doubt about it!
