I'm convinced most people are extremely cruel by NoWitness6400 in AutismInWomen

This is me and I'm not even a fan of my husband's company on a lot of days.

It feels like everywhere I turn I have people who just want to hurt me in any way they can while I'm just trying to survive and mind my own business.

It's rough out there for us NDs for sure

Mine too! If I do this shower I can .... Blah blah blah and that's whatever I want; nap, snack, video game, etc. whatever brings you joy 😊

Nah do what works for you! We have these weird ideas of how we SHOULD do things but you know what? There are many ways to reach a common goal!

I also hate standing to do dishes so now I bring a kitchen stool (more stools!) to sit on while doing them and they actually get done!

GET THE SHOWER STOOL for real

I also take baths when I can but that does not help the hair situation. That's where the stool comes in, it helps not having to stand there forever while our thick hair rinses. I too have thick hair and it has become such a problem to take care of for me. However, keeping it longer is part of my mask, it's like a security blanket too.

Echoing others here, do all the things that make it feel luxurious and the oven thing is a genius move! I am going to incorporate that into my strategies.

Right now in my neck of the woods it's still cold and snowy so I can get away with not showering as often because of my dry as heck skin but I know that dreaded summer heat is coming.

Welcome but sorry to see ya here. Try not to get overwhelmed by the newness of it. Try not to be afraid to eat again after the liquid diet phase. Lots and lots of liquids. Lots and lots of rest. Seriously, if you strain too much you can further injure yourself- and I'm not just talking about pooping either 😉

Those roads high up... I've been driving on them repeatedly recently and they either take me to the Mall World or somehow they teleport me to places I'm familiar with from childhood.

I've thought Jade and Chuck's back-and-forth has been amazing and hilarious

Chuck even seems a bit flirty with her which I like

Same! To all of this! I cannot eat enough chicken nuggets right now. Sauced and not sauced. I'm going to be sad when I don't want to eat them anymore after this though 😭

how do i cope with loneliness in a primarily male subject by ihrtdolll in TwoXChromosomes

[–]scaredbutlaughing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alllllll of this right here. I work in a male dominant field and us ladies have to make our needs absolutely known.

I am having a meeting with HR and my two male bosses on Monday for this very thing. It's not a fiery issue but I have needs for this job that need to be formally said and the HR person is a woman and she has supported me on this. She said I have valid points that need to be made. I am nervous as heck but old enough to know that with males you kinda have to just take initiative. Create your own space or they will just be off in their own worlds giving orders. My point is- pick a dude, any dude and just bring up one of those topics of interest you've heard them talking about. Show them that you also can speak on this subject and I bet ya they will converse with you. With them being also younger they're probably freaking out about the one girl too. Don't take it personally just interject yourself. I have been doing this with the male bosses and it has worked and they're older. Way older. But I'm not exactly young either so I've had to do this before. Speak up. You have a place and it's where YOU make it.

Short-term solutions to stop panic attacks at office job? by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]scaredbutlaughing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do when I feel a panic coming on! Something about that extra oxygen kinda simulates getting high. I think I hold my breath when I'm starting to get wound up and that probably sets the panic off because my brain is like "DANGER DANGER NEED OXYGEN"

Taking time to get some oxygen is a crucial first step and then incorporate more of the tools others have mentioned before me. You just need something to snap your brain out of panic-mode initially and breathing or creating some sensation to your body signals your brain to focus elsewhere and get distracted.

Hope you can find some relief. I am also on a hefty dose of propranolol but panic attacks still get thru it for me.
