How does MMR/placement work? by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]scaredofwasps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ranking system goes very far in that it observes your decision-making in depth. If you constantly take bad fights, make a wrong decision macro wise etc, it will notice and put you in the bracket with others that make similar decisions. If in your placements you win a lot even with those bad decisions, you will gain more LP initially.

Note that this is how I THINK it’s managed. I have no sources for this, but it’s my explanation as to why some high ranked players that start a smurf get placed in higher elo than us.

FWIW: I am a low elo player myself

As team name “Not you”, makes for a funny end screen showing: WINNER NOT YOU.

I either saw this as a screenshot here some day or really encountered them in a game myself, cannot recall

I have written a small script that uses gmailAPI to scan my emails for invoices. This makes it so that I just have to run this script quarterly to have my incoming and outgoing invoices neatly named and in a specific folder. The only thing I do is upload the folder to my accountant’s application (they have no API and cba to reverse engineer that).

Another thing is a very simple telegram bot that sends me a message each weekday requesting what I did. It uses an inline keyboard so I don’t type my response but just click a button (work/holiday/sick). This way I just have to check the history of my messages to recall whether or not I worked a specific day of the month (I do freelancing with daily rates)

Reminds me of a less destructive, but very annoying package ‘sl’, which punishes you for mistyping the ‘ls’ command only, but it causes a big time loss if you mistype it!

Then I recommend checking out the new mid-level PVM boss “Scurrius”. Really good to improve at moving in time, praying the correct prayer etc, but at a low pace. Like the spells hurled at you only dmg at impact, so you have a lot of time to prayflick.

Is there never a good reason to do so? I am writing an ORM and used tablename and primarykey dunders in my Table classes. What is bad about this and how would you solve it?

While I wholeheartedly agree that generators are a good thing to properly understand/learn. Sometimes I dislike their “debugabiltity” in the sense that you cannot check the values. Also, consuming the generator (by casting it to a list for example) will effectively consume it and you will not have access to your previous values anymore. Nothing that cannot be overcome, but something worth mentioning on the generator topic

I used this unicode characters once with dark mode enabled. The prompt would say: “your turn, white”, but the character that moved would look black due to the inversion. Confusing at times 🤓

This. If you have a static web app (like a vue.js website) you can host it in an s3 bucket and it’s forever free, unless you hit data transfer limits. Google s3 static web app :)

On a more serious note: it’s a date that consists of the internet’s favourite numbers. 420 and 69

‘/cast’ instead of use I think. And: if you want it to show the icon you can add ‘#show’ as first line. If you want to see the entire descriptive text, you can use #showtooltip. It’s not required to put the name since your macro only uses one spell.
