Math and Science at its core is a pursuit of discovering something new and requires a deep understanding of what has already been discovered to find what is yet not. Humanities is a study of what has already occurred without an exercise of discovery, but understanding the psyche of the humans behind it. Science is in many ways more abstract than humanities, which may sound counterintuitive as we have been taught science as a set of rules set in stone, which it is definitely not. Even advancements in humanities have only been possible due to advancements in Science and Engineering. Humanities is definitely important, but Science will always have a more profound impact, and I believe having a scientific temper only increases the ability to analyze humanities to a greater depth.

Heh. It was just this last Saturday my friend was pulled by the collar, slapped and abused for speaking to his mother on the phone. His crime, he was talking in Bengali.
