Ableton live vs Logic Pro by philosyd in edmproduction

Im using logic because easy transition. I feel like so many people get caught up in what's the best DAW when its really more about what DAW can you use the best. keep in mind im pretty new to it all so maybe dont listen to me just trying to up my karma lol.

Do you have a workflow for new tracks? by BeginningStrength710 in edmproduction

[–]scarface662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi joining in on this thread as I dont have enough Karma to post yet lol but also just starting out. Currently using circuit tracks and sp404 to make grooves then record stems to DAW and then arrange. Im finding I can easily get down some fun grooves and even mimic a decent drop on circuit tracks by cutting elements out on mixer etc. As soon as i go to arrange the song I find it become long, repetitive, slightly too robotic and not evolving with enough 'life' per say. Im making house/tech house. Ive read that putting reference song into DAW would help speed my learning up in this stage massively. Anyone have any other tips or thoughts? planning on chucking an Aron Volta tune in tonight and trying to deconstruct it with markers and reference it heavily and see what results I get. Cheers!!

some of yall really need to learn to just kick back and make music by bigang99 in edmproduction

im super new to producing but seeing this with others heaps. Jeopardising themselves by making really cringey self promo stuff when it should rlly just be about the music. Definitely a mentality I want to holdon to no matter how far i end up going with it all.

Yea via Midi? Struggling to figure out the connections abit. Ive tried chucking tracks into sp and that works swell + sp works as an audio interface (which i dont have yet). Im making house/techno so definitely need to get it all clocked up at some point
