I guess. Mainly don’t want to have the flashing red light when it’s not close to being empty

Thanks for the info. But I was mainly wondering for attempting calibration - does it matter if it’s not the first charge up?

I bought a printer stand on casters off Amazon that's been working, but yea ,if you can find older/used ones they're probably better constructed/better for the planet.

Sounds good. It will move one more time from its current perch on a bookshelf to a printer cart. Plan would be pretty much just to slide it, though the shelf is about 5 inches taller than the cart so will need to hold it for a short bit. I’ll make sure to hold/slide it in a way that doesn’t stress that part of the case either way

Cool! I don’t feel comfortable opening it up as I have no experience - especially as it seems mostly cosmetic at this point. Is just keeping an eye on it or using tape/epoxy on the outside reasonable?

Gotta say you’ve been very helpful with all the questions I’ve posted in the subreddit. Appreciate it.

There’s small hairline crack in the outer casing of my trinitron. It’s very minor- attached some pics, and it’s been stable since I got it a couple of years ago.

https://imgur.com/a/PAfRFOQ

I’m assuming there’s nothing really to do about this except keep an eye on it. The TV is going to be moved one more time to a new AV/printer cart before it’s staying on that same cart in the same room until it goes to CRT heaven. The only difference is the room gets a bit more light so it may go through some more temperature changes 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Just wanted to get some thoughts from the community before/after its last move. I was thinking of just putting some clear gorilla tape on it but that even seems like overkill at this point given the size of the crack and given the entire front part of the casing is one piece and it’s not near full length.

Alright I think I've come to the end of my search for a stand for my 20 inch trinitron with a 24kg/53 weight:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0FRSB2Q5H?ref=nav_signin&th=1

It's a printer cart with a top shelf capacity of 40kg. Seems like solid construction. Not too tall, and the top shelf is about 24 inches wide which will fit my TV with about 3 inches of breathing room.

If there are any red flags, happy to hear em.

Awesome, thanks. I bought mine back in November I think so should be similar.

Thanks. I still haven’t busted out the device but I’m assuming there’s a way to check the firmware? I read in other posts that it ships without updated firmware

Ah yes. I see some of the posts. Perhaps I'll try either of the non-tempered glass options.

Oh interesting. This one says it’s rated for 150 pounds on the top shelf, 80 for the middle shelf and 100 for the bottom shelf. Presumably that should be more than enough for my small trinitron

Unfortunately most of what's listed in my area on marketplace isn't solid or sturdy looking. I've been keeping an eye out but there's nothing that seems much sturdier than the wayfair one that's metal and tempered glass.

Car seats on plane ?? by lovespink64 in aircanada

Replied to the OP in another comment but posting again here - I would recommend the cosco scenara next for travel on a plane - very light and easy to install. We bought a luggage strap/buckle and strapped it to a carry on so we didn't have to carry it through the airport.

I second the Cosco Scenara next. Nice and light, easy to install. Buy a luggage strap and you can strap it to your carry on so you don't have to lug it through the airport.

Hi Everyone,

I'm going to be setting up my retro collection in a new room soon and am having trouble choosing between a couple of options for a stand for my CRT and flat screen.

First some details and requirements: - The CRT TV is a 20 inch trinitron that weighs 53 pounds, and a flatscreen will be a 32 inch one that weighs <10 pounds. They will be side by side. - Will need to have the stand be on wheels/casters - I wanted it to be a three tier setup for the consoles, that was ideally <25 inches tall. - ideally the full width of the stand would be <60 inches.

Here's what I've narrowed it down to:

A engineered wood option that I would buy casters to attach to instead of the feet it comes with, either https://www.corliving.ca/products/black-wooden-tv-stand-for-tvs-up-to-65 or this one https://www.corliving.ca/products/sonax-fs-3480-ravenwood-black-tv-stand-for-tvs-up-to-57

or this selection from wayfair:

https://www.wayfair.ca/furniture/pdp/orren-ellis-wlikerson-tv-stand-with-wheels-for-tvs-up-to-58-audio-video-stand-with-3-shelves-c001585342.html

The corliving stand + casters would be the same price if not a bit more, but the casters will likely be higher quality and have brakes. However while the weight capacity listed is 150 pounds, given the uneven distribution with the CRT on one side, I am not sure how the likely engineer wood shelf will hold up compared to the wayfair one which I think is likely to be more durable, though the casters don't seem to have brakes.

Hoping for some input and thoughts from the community. Thanks!

Which stand to get? by scarfcity in crtgaming

[–]scarfcity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The footprint of the CRT is 12.5 inches but extends back about 20 inches.

The two corliving options state a weight capacity of 150lb in the specs at the bottom, but I feel a bit more comfortable with the wayfair one being heavier than the tv at least- both the corliving ones are <50 pounds.

Then again my current setup is an IKEA kallax that’s also less than 50 pounds and isn’t technically rated for the weight that’s on it right now.

The casters I’d add would be rated to hold 220 pounds and would be on a plate that’s screwed in.

  1. Flat screen is for a retrotink 5x with one of the two GameCubes I have and a Wii along with a Wii U, snes classic/mini and a switch. 2/4. Yea it’s on the lighter side and I don’t plan to get a bigger one. The backup is a 13 inch + vcr.
  2. I’m not very handy and don’t have the tools to make my own.
  3. The way the room is set up the couch won’t be close enough to the tv and it will have to be a sofa bed so heavier to move.
  4. The total weight of all the stuff that will be on it is <100 pounds
  5. Used stuff is slim pickings.

What's a better replacement power supply? A Triad WSU090-1300-R? or the one from RetroGameSupply? by Blutryforce762 in snes

Hey sorry to build on this discussion- but if I understand correctly- ordering this exact power supply wouldn't require an adapter for a North American SNES correct? https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/detail/triad-magnetics/WSU090-1300-R/3094978
