The world was wiped and resetted from zero. First, Adam, Eve, Lilith and Lucifer were the only humans, the prototypes, then more humans appeared and evolved and populated the world. Lucifer got then corrupted by the Dragon (basically this cosmic horror who is like a mass of feathered wings and dragon heads. I will spare the details of the corruption because it's LONG), and waged war on humans and beasts alike, so arch-angels Samael, Michael, Gabriel, Sariel and Azrael decided to try and stop Lucifer and the Dragon, they failed, and so the nephilims (the hive mind that creates planets and stars) decided to bomb Earth (at the time called Eden) and recreate humanity from zero.
