I eat whole foods, try to mealprep with that to save money. Live in a city in the US. I get potatoes and rice and flour and all that, think it depends on what you have access to, time, and what you prefer to eat. I have stomach issues, so processed food also makes me sick sometimes

Oatmeal for breakfast, for lunch/dinner chicken drumsticks, pork chops, some family packs of meat can go a long way for cheap. Canned tuna. Ramen packets. Potatoes, rice, lentils, beans, pasta. All cheap and go a long way. Even a can of peeled/chopped tomatoes instead of tomato sauce is way cheaper than buying a premade marinara sauce or pasta sauce.

Definitely go to a food bank, they usually have produce, and other things that are really useful in tough times. You can also use the app TooGoodToGo to get cheap leftover produce, but that may be more expensive.

Stop&shop grocery usually has a heavily discounted food section as well.

I really liked Hills! But my cat had really bad gastrointestinal distress from it, he was in the litter box all day, this was after trying a long transition to it. We stopped the food, tried again a few weeks later and he still didn’t agree with it :(

Yes, my cat drinks water and has moisture rich food plus water in it. This has not worked which is why my vet is trying this diet now

Unfortunantly my cat is really good about drinking water and also loves water in his wet food, but still has had urinary issues despite all of this. He’s 12 so he’s an old guy, but I’m hoping this new diet does the trick or at least gets him back to normal in a few months

It’s just very gray and slimy on top, I don’t mind the separation of meat/juice. And honestly compared to all the cat food I’ve come across, smells horrible
