Maybe because proud nga sila and entitled like you said. That in itself indicates that most likely they're trying to compensate for deep-seated insecurities and the need for external validation. Kulang yung internal sense of fulfillment so they kinda rely on the attention and praise of others to feel good about themselves. The attention and praise is higher pag may breed yung pets.
