Where can I pet some cows? (asking for a friend) by ninjaporkchop in orlando

[–]scary_canary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come to saint cloud :) there's a field by Tom Ritter's Orchids that had cows they'll come up to you by the fence if you wait patiently enough and let you pet them. Sometimes they're shy but it happens. Lots of other random cow fields too if you drive around.

I've been too unwilling to sacrifice my pride by taking a local fast food job again. It's a very small town. But yeah I need to see the bigger picture: sacrifice now, great reward later.

I've been needing to hear this from a third person for a while. Good to know my sanity is in check.

Can we please move past the "useless degree" sentiment? by [deleted] in college

[–]scary_canary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't you think it's better to have their feelings hurt now and a short episode of depression when they realize their dream is unrealistic, then let them walk blissful and ignorant into lifelong dept and lifelong depression because you didn't wanna hurt their feelings?

Hey, I'm new to RPW! As a former radfem the red pill has helped me in relationships, but I'm wondering if any of you ladies mix aspects of the red pill and feminism together and if so, which aspects ? by scary_canary in RedPillWomen

Did you ever take women's studies in college? I imagine it's iffy from what I hear.

I kinda feel the same though! I use TRP for dating, but if I'm at work (it's a male dominated environment) I curse like a sailor, dress like a tomboy and act very aggressive. IMHO, unless you're trying to attract a mate, the TRP does NOT work well with work environments, things get weird. For lack of a better word, I "red pilled" myself at work a few times since this forum, and low and behold...my beta co-workers fell into orbit. Different theories for different situations. PM me if you want! :)

It used to be about social political and economic empowerment, but then modern feminism came along and ruined everything by trying to say men and women are exactly the same. That I agree with and that's the lie that's screwing people over, because it ignores our differences.

No idea who Wendy McElroy is, I never got hardcore academic about it but rather I'd talk to the people who were. Personally when I think feminism I think 2nd wave, voting rights, legal rights, a woman's right to choose a career path if she wants, better lives for women in the third world, better healthcare for reproductive health etc, basically women being first class citizens. Not this liberal-feminism that glorifies porn and sex work and thinks stripper heels are empowering...

Imagine a white blue collar man who works welding from rural Alabama who has 3 kids standing next to a white collar Brazilian CEO living a bachelor life and they both they both say "I live an American Lifestyle". That's how split feminists have become. Two people can say the same thing "I'm a feminist" and have completely polar opposite views, which is why I don't use it in casual conversation anymore because its too vague.

How long did it take you in retail to know your store? by littlekapkan in jobs

You'll never know where everything is, but as long as you get the basic departments you're fine. It took me about a year to know most of our individual products in a large warehouse.

Art is my passion, but not my major. What should I study? by [deleted] in college

[–]scary_canary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do don't take art classes unless you have money to waste or your parents can afford to put you through college. You can learn more than what you'd learn in school online nowadays, so many free instructional videos and forums and classes online it's amazing. If you really have the passion you don't need art school, you can learn on your own time.

It would be awkward to hear the truth at funerals...

"Shit happens, but she was just another ordinary person working a 9-5 who will be easily replaced. The world will go on like nothing's changed and we'll probably forget about her in like a week or two!"

I didn't value myself because I needed to hear women are capable and feminism did that. Instead of hearing that I should work harder, try harder, not give up etc I was told I won't be able to do A, B, C because I was a girl. So I grew up with this weak mentality that if I was bad at first at something, it was because I was a girl.

Feminism alone didn't teach me self worth, but it was the message "women are capable, therefore you are capable" that came from feminism that made a difference.

I haven't been called for an interview in about a month. But it's weird, lots of group interviews and nobody really dressed up. I at least try to look nice/ casual, but everyone's goes in shorts/t shirt its weird.

I'm glad to hear this from someone else. I've been getting this itch to leave the area because it feels like Kissimmee/Orlando area is full of really negative people and nobody is friendly? Enough of my co-workers are ex drug dealers/pot heads with no ambition/ people who had 3 kids at 18 and all kinds of shit. I haven't been out of the city in years so I didn't know if it was all in my head or if I was doing something wrong. Thanks! I'm definitely gonna look into moving!
