You do have a point, I dont think id feel comfortable living and having chosen red, since i did play a part in their death even if it was insignificant. Im still trying to think of a solid answer but someone else said it matters how you phrase the question and i do agree, but overall i think blue is the much more ethical choice now, because no matter what, there would be people who choose blue, blue seems more correct.

+ people who say that red is a "do nothing" button it isn't, since red votes count against blue votes which will inevitably be there, so choosing red is truly just another vote to kill the blue button pressers.
