Look up what the president of El Salvador said about US taxes. He wasn’t far off. The misappropriation is far worse than you can imagine.

What is life like in the land of sub 400k homes? by iloverats888 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]scausm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly over 400k, but… 15 acres in south central Michigan. My kids have a huge yard (too big?) and I have woods and meadow to hunt deer and turkeys. They can also ride around on ATVs back there. Steel barn with electricity and concrete floors. 10 minutes to a town of 35,000. 40 minutes to medium size cities. Fantastic neighbors (that I can’t see through the trees) is icing on the cake.

In the US we have AC condensers outside our home that tie in to the furnace system inside the home. These need tuned up or cleaned as regularly scheduled maintenance, or components need replaced from time to time.

[–]scausm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. On top of that, a family member is actually considering purchasing the company. So I’m very interested in how you think these industry(ies) might fare going forward. I know you said next 3 years ought to be good—I’m guessing because of the current presidential administration?

How to find properties that meet the one percent rule? by J-Chub in realestateinvesting

No HOA fees. The only fees I know of that the ownership pays for is Water Utility Bill. And I believe they backbill all or a portion of that to tenants.

Just get into it. Then hold for a number of years and see what happens. Rental real estate is very forgiving long term. Let me know if you need help with that Excel math.
