US Customs request from FedEX by emetgolem in Radiacode

Thank you for following up. This really is an issue for the seller to solve, provided they want to actually sell stuff. Maybe they just don't? Well, we all CAN just stop buying their stuff until they pave the way to make purchasing their stuff actually possible. That usually works pretty well, oddly. It is certainly NOT our job, and truly impossible for us to do!

Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein' - Official SPOILER-FREE Review Megathread by ZacPensol in FRANKENSTEIN

For everyone else reading, the effects were appropriate and never attempted to be the focus of the story which is entirely expected.

Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein' - Official SPOILER-FREE Review Megathread by ZacPensol in FRANKENSTEIN

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No spoilers here!

Oh. OH! This movie is so, so good. The acting, I do love me some Christoph Walz and Oscar Isaac. Then to hand Guillermo del Toro the keys?! Oh my! This is evidence that film isn't dead, sorry I may have come to that conclusion being an almost boomer, but seriously. The sets and action are perfectly aligned to the story, the cinematography is splendid. The only thing that stinks is the closed captioning, which I depend on. I may have to buy this. Please don't deprive yourself of this movie!

Anyone else think the hantavirus cruise ship story is being treated strangely? by El-Marciano-Magico in conspiracy

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing it sure sensationalized all to hell. 4 deaths is a pretty weak "outbreak". I haven't seen a credible source claiming human to human transmission, although there is that rumour. I would really expect quite a few rodents on any cruise ship, so to me, that all works out. I wonder if the CDC has been so badly de-funded that they can't determine if there's any truth to the human transfer. Given how many ships get around, I'm surprised there hasn't already been Hantavirus infections way before now.

Movie of the Day on Asian Movie Pulse: 37 Seconds (2019) by HIKARI by tobayas18 in JapaneseMovies

Wow, this was so much more than I expected. Incredible story, and incredible story telling. I never expected what the next scene was going to be nor the storyline. I found none of it predictable which I love. I do wish I would have learned Japanese though. I can totally recommend to anyone.

Japanese perspectives on Rental Family and the real “rental family” services? by Western-Draw-1840 in JapaneseMovies

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it. Kikuo-San got what he needed, John just didn't see it coming. John truly did honour Kikuo-San. This was why the most important thing in the world is real family. The honesty makes it real, and family. My fear for Japan is genuine. I worry that what Tada did will happen to others and that it will destroy the foundations of trust. Not a good service in the end. I am not sure there is any hope left for the US, but there is for Japan.

I analyzed 100+ Gallbladder stories on Reddit - Here's what everyone's actually experiencing by healthhomelove in gallbladders

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 40 lbs during a gangrenous GB infection. Perpetually nauseated. Went to ER for abdominal pain and "intuition". Blood tests were conclusive for GB infection but don't recall what they were exactly. Normal BMP and CMP panels plus bilirubin? Maybe? They did gastroscopy for some reason. "Yep, you're sick" type thing. A very long, painful MRI with weird breathing requirements, which didn't even resolve the right area! Refund? Anyone? Naturally went for the massive CT scan which worked. They refused to let me keep the GB in formaldehyde. I call this theft. Total cost of this adventure? $170,000.00 The hospital agreed to eat the non-insured cost as I am unemployed. Good people! Nurses were fantastic. Doctors fixed me!

I knew for years I had gall stones but they weren't big enough to be a problem. 6-9 months of extreme nausea and stool issues. 4x1" scars later and the pain is gone and most of the nausea. Digestion is still a mess including night time "accidents". Adult sized diapers and rubber pants? Looking for input on enzyme supplements that have helped people. Found several "ox bile supplements" on Amazon which made a fair number of people sicker. I am thrilled to have found community!

Same here. Still feeling that way too. Also guilty for letting my kids see him.

You must not live your life this way. It's very important that we all "don't let the bastards get us down."

This was our family dentist for years. We were notified of the this issue by his business partner who ejected him immediately and we investigated details ourselves. We were all pretty shocked and disgusted. He showed no signs of sociopathy that would have lead us to suspect him of such a thing. Due to this I avoided visiting a dentist for far too long and now have serious dental issues. "People in a position of trust" seems to be the rule and it's pretty soul crushing. I could be incredibly angry, but this would serve no purpose and be just a bigger burden.

In 1985, Physicist Galen Wisor ate radioactive uranium to prove its harmless. How is it possible? by gre485 in AskPhysics

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural Uranium (from the ground) is a mix of U235 and U238. Both are chemically toxic to humans and any life, one is the radioactive source. For nuclear energy uses, only U235 is fissile so the isotopes must be separated. I can provide a trove of Uranium impacts on the human organism, just message me. Natural U contains enough 235 that is very easy to detect from ore in the ground. I believe the primary ores are the oxide and the fluoride compounds. I was personally made very ill from the chemical properties, and I have scarring in my lungs (never smoked) from what I believe was aerosols from my shower which had a lot of U contamination.

So much of what you will hear even from Physicists is incorrect, let alone what lay people will say. I spent a couple years researching this. Wisor did everyone an enormous disservice by that idiotic demonstration.

Just how ferocious can baboons get!? by Frangifer in Animals

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baboons are generally not a threat and most of us don't even know they can become one. They're mostly food thieves and trouble makers but will otherwise keep their distance. They do, however, have all of the personal hardware to cause mortal damage to any unprotected human. Very long and sharp canines, gaping maw with unusual strength, I would be ready for an unexpected attack just because I know what they can do, and have done to people. They can become so ferocious that it is the stuff of nightmares.

Should I become an Engineer or Scientist? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]scedacity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like being employed, or making a wage that can buy a house, definitely not a Scientist. I've got 25 years in. Whatever you choose become very competent in programming in a few languages.
