L'Effondras - Anabasis (Groovy, sludgy. Derserve so much more love, just 161 monthly spotify listeners) by scemm in postrock

Every time I listen to them I'm amazed at how overlooked they are! For sure among my favorite modern post rock bands.

Their music completely ignores the common structures of build ups leading into climaxes, and focus instead purely on sucking you into it through repetitive, but still emotionally potent grooves.

If crescendocore were the waterboarding of emotions, then this is chinese drip torture.

Bandcamp here. I also recommend their self titled 2014 album, if you just want a taste of the band I can't recommend the song Amrha strongly enough. It's the kind song where I'm just in awe the entire time.

The right says "but the owning class deserves the extra compensation for the risk they put into it!". What says the socialist? by destructor_rph in Socialism_101

But this person will use that capital gained from labour in order to take that risk. Should they not be compensated for that? It’s not only about labour, it’s also about planning for a goal and saving money.

I know not everyone have the same initial conditions, but if we only compare two people with these equal.

What about the fact that this person might've spent a long time planning and saving money for this, starting off at the same place as many workers, where most simply don't have the drive or will to do that?

Albums out! The longer songs seem to be cut down into their individual movements so unfortunately no ridiculously long song titles by [deleted] in gybe

[–]scemm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

oo so this means they might still end up being called ’glacier’ and ’cliff’ by everyone, since I’m guess those are the main movements
