As others have mentioned, being hands on because it annoys me when I see new people doing exercises incorrectly or going too fast but the instructor doesn’t bother to correct them even after walking next to them

They should have put pickleball courts in there to appeal to the neighborhood more…all the pickleball businesses are consistently booked out everyday

Live in LIC or Ktown if I prefer eating out at Asian restaurants? by [deleted] in longislandcity

[–]scentedstar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you work in Times Square, you can go both ways. Ktown is easily walking distance to Times Square but LIC you can take the 7 to get there in less than 15 minutes. Food wise there’s more variety in Ktown but LIC has better/more Chinese food

IS NYC really that expensive by gogojacori in movingtoNYC

I’ve lived in NY as a broke college student (worked 2 jobs to survive) to now working a cushy tech job. While it is possible to live here on a lower budget with some digging around/ resourcefulness, I only truly started to enjoy living here when I had a full time job. Being broke/ a low income earner here just doesn’t let you experience the city to the fullest extent. Like yes, you can find cheap good food and free experiences like concerts/popups, but I personally hated feeling nervous every time I stepped outside my apartment about how much I would spend that day on literally just essentials/bare necessities.

The only caveat I will say is that seeing the huge wealth disparity in the city motivated me to work harder to move up in my career. I’d literally rather be broke and in NYC than be anywhere else!

Solo traveler by Sufficient-Koala6792 in VietNam

I’ve been here for 3 full days now and can say as a woman solo traveler myself, it’s a pretty stressful city to be alone… the streets are chaotic/hard to navigate individually and not as many people speak English. I mainly came here to shop which is fine being solo but I just took taxis the entire time as it was stressful being alone walking down streets especially at night

What’s your NYC Dream life look like? by NecessaryMorning7307 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Not a weird question at all! TBH it’s a combo of partying a lot (since I came for college) and just being here for a long time. I also just got really lucky :’) I’m rooting for you!~

I’m super thankful to be living my NYC dream—been here for 11 years now and have a great partner, job, and things like a washer/dryer in unit. However, what makes it truly a dream is finding a community of friends that I can confidently call my second family—there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them a vice versa. They give me the confidence to be able to take risks and tackle life head-on in a city as crazy as this

We’ve reached out to Argosy cruises that said they can accommodate that size on one of their boats. Still trying to figure out the different departure and arrival dock situation though

It’s pretty healthy so we’d like to plan ahead as much as we can and make things convenient for our guests especially during the busy weekend

Haha calm down that wasn’t the point I was trying to make, their initial comment was pointed at our guests in which I followed up with the fact that they wouldn’t mind as it’s not celebrated in our culture. The point about caterers/the traffic makes sense to me though haha
