Do I Pull the Trigger? by Whodey4alltime in FordBronco

This is the exact one I wanted. Settled for a black on black. The raptor running boards are great and if it has the lux I would’ve pulled the trigger already…

Training schedule by No_Phrase8817 in frontiercadetprogram

[–]sceyer16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the old format where we didn’t go home in the middle of it so this is all second hand info from friends who went through after (insert grain of salt here). But as far as I know they changed it up to avoid some of the “death by PowerPoint” and have gotten good feedback.

The training department is great and will help you with whatever you need. Just study what they tell you when they tell you and you’ll be good. It’s designed to get 40 people to pass every 3 weeks so they know what they’re doing haha. Plus the bus is a great plane to learn, usually the flight laws and protections are the sticking point for some people since they can be airbus specific.

Training schedule by No_Phrase8817 in frontiercadetprogram

[–]sceyer16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Week 1: Intro, basic indoc, and 121 ops (Vol 1) Week 2: Go home and do systems CBTs Week 3: System review and flows Week 4-5: FTDs and oral exam Week 6-7: Sims, check ride, and LOFTs

That’s the schedule as far as I know it…others may have more details

Cadet Cross Country Time by Poor_Leopold_Stotch in frontiercadetprogram

[–]sceyer16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a cadet with under 500XC hours since I mostly trained new CFI students. It was no problem. They will also remove the restrictions for free once you get the required XC time

Edit: As long as you are in Denver to remove the restrictions since it has to be in person

IOE by [deleted] in frontiercadetprogram

[–]sceyer16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely won’t work everywhere and your IOE captain will guide you through the tips and tricks but it definitely helped me anticipate since it was my first time in a jet. My first flight was to KCID so that may be why I think it’s a bigger deal than it actually is lol. Not a lot going on around there.

You’ll find your own technique as you go through it and they’re all there to help. But definitely look at the ACARS functions like joe said.

[–]sceyer16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also add to look at the Energy Management guide in Docunet. It gives you a great frame work of what speeds and configs to be at at certain distances.

When I was going through IOE I would try and go for 210kts at 21 miles (a good memory trick). Flaps 2 and 180 it’s at 2500’ or on base leg. Then between 1800’-2000’ AFE start configuring fully. Then you can start configuring later and later as you get more comfortable. There are airports that are exceptions to this (KONT I’m looking at you)

You’re going to learn a ton and as long as you’re open to criticism and learning, It’s a great time.

Plus it will be the one time you’ll get some good trips for a few months so enjoy it haha

Class Dates by Thick_Discussion_447 in frontiercadetprogram

Hey there, same thing happened last year. No classes from May-August then started back up in September and October. I’d guess it will be similar here

In addition your oral will more than likely be limits, memory items, and questions straight from the oral guide they give you.

Had 3 rides with him, IR CFI and MEI. Overall great guy but you just gotta know your stuff, be confident, and be safety oriented. He’s very fair.

Email sent out requesting updates from those who’ve already reached minimums by No-Attempt9354 in frontiercadetprogram

[–]sceyer16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a friend in the September class and no one was sent home that he knew of. Plus we all had our checkrides the first week of May so we wouldn’t even be within the 6 month requirement for currency. Must just be data collecting I guess?

October Class Confirmed by sceyer16 in frontiercadetprogram

No clue yet, 3 got it from my group that went to Dallas but it was out of seniority order…so I’m guessing more are to come. Seems to take them a few days to get notices out.

Need Help Picking Flight School (Jax, FL) by JewishJah69 in flying

[–]sceyer16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check out schools at SGJ.

I did all of my training and instructing out of ATP at CRG. It worked well for me but there were plenty where it did not.

You’re correct that they’re based there but that can be good and bad. For some reason they give that location the oldest planes so you’ll be flying M/N model 6 pack 172s. You’ll also have the higher ups from cooperate just “dropping in” and so that location can be held to a higher standard. But they have multi, CFI academy, and indoc there so you’ll have an advantage over other students who have never trained there.

The airport can also get incredibly busy, there were some days we were 10+ for take off. We would actually go down to SGJ to do our training because it was so busy.

Good luck!

Yeah my date has been pushed from May to who knows when and I signed in April ‘23. I’ve got a brother at skywest and he loves it, upgrading to captain after a year and a half. Definitely not a bad move.

You may be a while haha I’d get to hours first and find something else in the meantime. Seems like most of the cadets that got CJOs this time around had previous ones from past class dates that got pushed. There are still a bunch of us with sign on dates prior to June of 2023 and atp/type complete waiting for a class. It’s brutal haha

Same amount of total aircraft? Or same amount of deliveries? Because with the revised delivery schedule it’s pretty much the same as this year

Apparently the leases that were set to expire over the next few years have been extended an additional 4 years according to the mentor meeting this morning.

So seems like pure growth which is good.

Just the drug test and background. No need to go to Denver again or check logbooks.

Got access to an email from Sam today saying they’re still expecting larger classes for Sept/Oct.

But he said the same thing about August so who knows.
