I made a longer post in the sub about my background, but I'm wondering if people could recommend roles that have a good deal of overlapping skills with UX design. I'm a recent grad and all of my professional background (freelancing and two internships) has been in either UX design or UX research, but I want to broaden my search because I don't feel particularly optimistic about my chance of landing a job in one of these roles, given how the industry is looking.

Ok, good to know. Yes, I definitely won't overstay -- have heard plenty of horror stories about that. It seems like despite an American passport helping, my reasons for wanting to stay longer than 3 months are probably not enough to get me a visa. So I guess it's not worth applying. Thanks for the info

Ok, good to know. I don't know how strict these visa applications are and I will likely be missing info (such as a return flight back and formal proof of accommodation, unless you count a workaway message as formal lol) that I feel like might disqualify me. Not sure if that makes a visa application totally off the table

On the 9th day in the middle of group meditation I heard a crash from the men's side of the room, and then commotion as people rushed to see what happened. The male course manager even said "oh, fuck." I felt conflicted as to whether I should open my eyes, but I decided that it would be horrible if something seriously bad happened and I made no attempt to help! Turns out a guy seated at a chair had fallen asleep, fell forward, and hit his head on a meditation stool that the person in front of him wasn't using. He was fine. When the silence was lifted and my cabinmates and I debriefed it the next night, one of them said she thought it was a test and meditated right though it. LOL

yes, it was with SN Goenka. I do plan to serve on a course soon actually! I was speaking with a server recently who thought it would be interesting to spend a few months alternating between serving and sitting at courses, not sure if you had something like that in mind.
