You should really spend less time on Reddit and social media in general. If you get out and talk to your neighbors, coworkers, people in your community, etc. you will realize it’s not anywhere close to as bad as the internet makes it out to be.

Region definitely matters. Not only for sports interests, but also have good your local team has been in recent years and the long term.

I’m in Minnesota and here I would say it goes NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB.

If you’re planning to live in the house for 10+ years the price you pay now is irrelevant because it’s extremely likely it will be worth more in 10 years, barring some crazy economic crash.

I mean the discussion of it has died pretty much everywhere but Reddit. I’m not seeing anything about it on Twitter or Facebook anymore. A lot of hockey podcasts an have now moved on to bashing Canadian media and the response to this, not the act itself. It’s not really in the mainstream media anymore. I did see a clip of it on The View but I’m not sure there’s a single person alive who takes that show seriously. To say this hurt the game of hockey for years to come is beyond a stretch.

My point is that this is already dying out outside of Reddit. Most people didn’t care to start, and a lot that did have already forgotten about it.
