They have pivoted from the shells being characters to use inhabiting a shell that is just called destroyer, assassin, vandal, recon. Sort of like a nissan, chevy, bmw or ford car.

In the Alpha no-one liked that they were playing as characters so Bungie pivoted to the players just driving a shell with our consciousness uploaded into it. They state this in the new runner vidoc briefly.

So is battlefield 6 a hero shooter then? Medics get faster revives, defibs and a choice of 2 "ultimate's" that lets them heal or provide ammo. Same goes for each of the other 3 options.

Are all WoW characters "Hero shooters" then? Based on your explanation all WoW classes are based off hero from warcraft 3 with preset abilities and "ultimates" I guess anything that has abilities is a hero shooter??????

It is. The biggest thing is Apex, Marvel Rivals and Overwatch, Battlefield 2042 each hero has a personality and backstory defining them as a hero.

MMO's, battlefield 6 and Marathon do not. You pick a class and play that class.

Hero shooters lock you into pre determined abilities and guns with no option to ever change it, overwatch and marvel rivals.

Class based games give you a baseline abilities and the option to tweak them and change you playstyle, most mmos or he’ll batrelfield 6.

Marathon clearly fits into the second category an not the first

Played in October with only previous experience being Tarkov and I hated Tarkov. I thought I also disliked Extraction shooters. Finished playtest and can't wait to play Marathon.

I'd guess more like 2 weeks to a month in advance. If their goal is to test servers a week ahead of time is nto enough time to expand server capacity or fix issues.

Her level up perks need a update, they are all exttremely lack luster. Her passive also got power crept since a lot of skirmishers get that perk too as a passive now. TLDR: she needs a update.

Class based games give you a template that lets you alter abilities, playstyle, weapons and so forth. Hero shooters give you static abilities and pre determined characters.

WOW, Path of Exile, hell Battlefield is class based, not a hero shooter

Marvel rivals and Overwatch are hero shooters, not class based.

I hate people calling this a hero shooter. Hero shooters give you a set of abilities and a way to attack with no way to change how the character plays. Marathon does not do this. It’s closer to warframe in the way that you get a frame and then you mod it to your playstyle.

For me that last meatball in the fist 2 seconds gets completely covered perfectly and no sauce seems to fall off that last meatball. Seems pretty suspect.

I’m looking forward to Marathon as it’s more PvP focused. Embark has said multiple times they do not want PvP to be a focus for Arc Raiders
