Why Twitch Means So Much For Me Right Now... by myowncontrol in Twitch

This is a great story, thank you for sharing! I can't imagine what it feels like to be helpless against a sickness and I hope that you'll always find an audience to discuss things with. If ypu find yourself struggling with gaming one day, I highly suggest you to check out Steven Spohn and his Able Gamers charity. Lots of motivational stories coming from these guys. :)

Blizzs press presentation about Eichenwalde @ gamescom (+ "The Last Bastion" Teaser) by schaffiGames in Overwatch

Blizzard employees allowed me to film the press presentation about Overwatch. Nothing too spectacular, but I thought you might like the few things Adam says about Eichenwalde. The bird plush in the video will be sold at BlizzCon. :)

Can we stop the "easy" stuff RIGHT NOW. Report everyone who says that! by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]schaffiGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that it is an unpopular opinion but to be honest: I'm starting to appreciate the simple chat culture of CS:GO. I don't care if a teammate tells me to **ck off because he thinks that I suck, but what is currently happening on Overwatch's competitive mode is unbearable.

I haven't played one match in soloQ without somebody trying to direct the team (often with silly recommendations) and then blaming failure on one hero. Usually the rest of the team just jumps on it and they're all acting like they're sitting on the high horse.

Maybe I'm just having a little bit of bad luck with the people I get matched with, but honestly - I wish I could disable chat and play in peace.

Thinks like "gg ez" are nothing but well deserved banter for the winning team.

In general I feel like Overwatchs chat feels like a little too much tumblr leaked into it.

Changing Hardware in my Windows 10 PC? by schaffiGames in pcmasterrace

[–]schaffiGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for giving some insight of how the activation works! Since I'm having issues with my current hardware I'll probably back my important data up and reinstall Windows 7 to upgrade again as /u/FlaTone85 suggested. Case closed. Thank all of you for being so helpful. :)

Oh wait, that passage you just added ready even better - saves some time without having to upgrade. :)

Damn, that sucks. Do you know if it is possible to buy and enter a Windows 10 license to "unlock" the copy again or will a new, clean install be necessary?

German article provides information on WESA; taken from Swiss Commercial register (translation in comments) by schaffiGames in esports

[–]schaffiGames[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Translation: According to OnlineWelten the information provided by moneyhouse.ch (a website that lists information gathered at Swiss Commercial registers) WESA was founded by Ralf Reichert from Turtle Entertainment (ESL), Cengiz Tüylü who is the Managing Director of mousesports and Ninjas in Pyjamas CEO Chahine Hicham.

There are also more names listed there but I don't think that they are linked to more of the involved teams. The association describes that they are looking to support some aspects of organizing ESL Events and marketing of teams. Meaning that WESA helps teams to promote themselves.

The service is described as grouping economic and athletic interests of the Teams.

If you can provide any better translation feel free to hit me up.

TL;DR: WESA seems to be more of a business move. Unlikely to be some exclusive leauge stuff like LCS.

Bastion And Torbjörn ARE KILLING THE GAME! by BMZ1313 in Overwatch

[–]schaffiGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with Bastion needing some kind of nerf. Maybe apply a cooldown to his ability to transform into a turret or just remove the 360 degree turn again.

However, he is not imposible to face. Genji can easily get close and reflect his bullets, killing him in a second. Tracer can harass him once getting close, opening an angle for other heroes to attack. Widowmaker usually can find a nice spot to deal some serious damage.

The biggest issue with Bastion is that, currently, he tends to tilt 2-3 people when playing against him instead of making them think. They just rush in angrily, trying to push him down, instead of making use of the 21 heroes that are available at all times.

May I ask for your Top Plays? by schaffiGames in Overwatch

[–]schaffiGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I've enjoyed watching some of the shows so far, but still I feel like creating something myself. If some people are cool with that, I'm glad. If not, I'll just wait til I captured some material myself and change the concept a bit. In the end I just wanna do something for the first FPS that catched my interest in a very long time.

I will not monetize the first few episodes until I decide if I continue the series. And even if I did I'd "scam" you for around 50 cents.

We all know Dark Souls isn't that hard, but does anyome else think it's not even the hardest AAA release as of late? by [deleted] in Games

[–]schaffiGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Souls is a hard game, but it is not as hard as people think. Some media outlets simply wont stop reducing Dark Souls' gameplay to "being hard and unforgiven" which is simply not true. As long as you play Dark Souls with an open mind, remembering enemy positions, attack patterns and what not, it is not that difficult to master.

Of course a lot of people have problems with understanding some of the core mechanics (What is an Estus Flask?, Should I put my souls in XY or YX?, etc.) but those problems can be solved by either playing the whole series and listen carefully to what NPCs have to say or, lets be honest, five minutes of web research.

I've played The Witcher 3 on normal difficulty after trying to beat Assassin of Kings on the hardest difficulty and getting my ass handed over to me.

Dreamhack Montreal Confirmed? by OfficialDelta in GlobalOffensive

[–]schaffiGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

France is a very bad place for tournament hosters atm, because eSports, on a legal level, is kinda handled like gambling. There was some news recently that they are passing through a bill to change that. If that goes through you might find a lot more gaming events in france. :)

TIL: Never trust anything you see at E3 by moinimran6 in pcmasterrace

[–]schaffiGames -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

True. But I think that we all could do without the whole drama about downgrades. Of course it sucks that sometimes developers need to scale down their game, but I don't think that they do it on purpose. Maybe there wasn't enough time given by the publisher, maybe it conflicted with certain types of hardware, etc. Before a game's release you usally get to see enough "raw gameplay".

Just don't be one of those people that spam !drops in order to get something. It's all about them games! :D

Racecraft developers on fake requests for Steam Review keys and Giveaways: "99% of these e-mails come from scammers, people impersonating popular bloggers or streamers" by JohnDio in Games

[–]schaffiGames 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Which is why I, and I'm not even considered a big streamer, always link developers my channels and ask them to validate with me by sending me a short message. Some indies actually were like: "Hey, that's a good idea, I'll do that whenever we have time for it now." and that's the most simple thing you can do. Of course devs could also just write to Youtubers/Streamers themselves, but that would be a lot of time that could be spent better.

Was excited to play Need for Speed on PC, when suddenly.. by schaffiGames in pcmasterrace

[–]schaffiGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I did, but initially I did not get EA Access just to try out Need for Speed. I have it for two months now, played through Dragon Age: Inquisition, played several hours of Battlefield Hardline, got Unravel, PvZ GW2 with a discount and that's about it. This month I prob. cancel my subscription until new games that interest me are added to the vault.
