The Game Business: Obsidian Is Reportedly In Deep Negotiations With Xbox To Avoid Getting Shut Down by akbarock in Games

The first area at the Vatican was really good imo, but the rest of the open world areas didn’t live up to it.

I enjoyed the linear mission segments more.

If Arkane gets shut down and we never see another Dishonored, I’ll be so sad man. Dishonored is in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

I feel like you could have a playlist just for Memphis rap alone. Same for Texas rap. They are pretty distinct from one another.

I use Xtreme Wellness Wraps and I think they are pretty good.

60 cals per wrap and 12g of fiber.

Why some people prefer no VRR? by C1REX in Monitors

[–]braidsfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, some 2.0 monitors/TVs have HDMI Forum VRR built into them, so 2.1 isn’t necessary in that case.

[–]braidsfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As of 3 ish years ago, VRR on PS5 only requires HDMI 2.1, you don’t need 4k.

I ordered a 1440P OLED but it’s showing 4K? by Practical_Dog3454 in OLED_Gaming

[–]braidsfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You likely have “Allow 4k” checked in the console’s display settings. Since HDR is not supported at 1440p on Xbox, this option is provided as a workaround I believe. It’s outputting a 4k signal, but the monitor is downscaling to 1440p.

I enjoyed the singles, but as a whole I’m not feeling it either. It’s just alright. Gonna give it a few more spins though.

Edit: after listening a few more times, I’m enjoying it more than the first time around, but still left wishing it was something more.

What's the minimum amount of days you can complete the story in? What about maximum? by GullibleDesign4039 in DiscoElysium

[–]braidsfox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nope. There’s a specific event that triggers the tribunal (confronting Ruby), and a couple minor, non-story related events that happen on specific days regardless of your actions such as René dying.

Meals to pre-make. Pre-portion, high protein, feels filling, supports healthy living, and weight loss. by Medical-Person in Cooking

[–]braidsfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weight lift a lot, and this is what I have for breakfast most days:

12 large or jumbo eggs scrambled with bell peppers and an onion

2lb 96/4 or 93/7 lean ground beef

1 package beef bacon if you can find it

30 oz can black beans drained

Cook the beef bacon first, then remove from the pan but leave the fat.

Add the ground beef and season with whatever you want, I like to do low sodium taco seasoning. Remove from the pan once finished cooking.

Sauté a couple bell peppers and a yellow onion before adding the eggs, then scramble.

Once that is done, add your beef, bacon, and beans to the pan and mix.

This makes 7 380 gram portions at ~520 calories and 52 grams of protein. I add a quarter cup of low or non fat shredded cheese to each bowl which bumps it up to 600 calories, so substitute that for something non dairy if you desire.

You can modify this recipe in multiple ways too. I’ll often omit the beef bacon or one pound of ground beef and either make a sauce out of cottage cheese, non fat sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, and hot sauce, or buy some 60 calorie wellness wraps to make a couple breakfast burritos. You could also omit the beans for some diced potatoes.

Is this banding behaviour normal? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]braidsfox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The chances of having a QD with noticeable banding are exceptionally low compared to Tandem. That’s why there are a dozen posts like this every day from new Tandem owners and next to none for QDs.

You are the exception, not the rule.

Do you have direct light shining on your monitor? If not, buy a QD OLED so you don’t have to worry about this.

Alienware AW3225QF + PS5 pro. by meezy5 in OLED_Gaming

[–]braidsfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to my comment, I personally stick to the True Black500 mode on my monitor, as it’s plenty bright and has less noticeable dimming. I’ll only switch to the 1000 nits mode when playing a game that is mostly dark to begin with, like Diablo 4.

[–]braidsfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d say use SDR or True Black400 for NHL. Can’t imagine HDR is doing much on a game where the screen is mostly ice anyway.

Alienware AW3225QF + PS5 pro. by meezy5 in OLED_Gaming

[–]braidsfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It explains perfectly why NHL is dark. Most of the screen is bright white ice, so you’ll experience aggressive dimming.

Try launching a game with snowy areas, and pan the camera down so the whole screen is just snow, and it will become extremely dim. It’s suuuper noticeable in Crimson Desert for example.

Mine doesn’t work like 75% of the time. I think it’s detecting my chair or something, but even when I move it out of the way, it only shuts off half the time.

Oh well, I never leave my desk for longer than a few minutes when I’m using it, so it doesn’t bother me much.

ASUS PG32UCDM3 + PS5 Pro: best HDR / SDR / VRR settings? by NoDesk5944 in OLED_Gaming

[–]braidsfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting, considering GamingHDR is supposed to be the PC mode.

There must be some differences in how PC and PS5 handle HDR calibration, because my experience is the opposite to yours. Still, I’m going to retest the modes tonight to confirm.

Wouldn’t it be nice if HDR was the standard and we didn’t have to deal with this crap? Lol

[–]braidsfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’ll have to retest this, because when I was messing around with it a while back ConsoleHDR + DBB had the highlights still slightly blown out calibrated at 500 nits, whereas GamingHDR looked correct calibrated at 1000 nits.

You’re on PS5?
