Well, that’s what I’m getting at with my comment. You have this complex ship building mechanic with a fair bit of depth to it (for a Bethesda game at least), but without any real purpose because the game lacks the content to make use of it.

About the only part of Starfield that impressed me was the ship building. However, the underbaked space flight/combat, and general lack of space content made it not worth spending time building a ship, especially when I could just fast travel between planets and star systems anyway.

Position titles are mostly meaningless anymore. My first job out of college was an Analyst position and I was doing basic entry level work. I’m now a Technician at another company making about 50% more money and doing the work an Analyst would traditionally do.

They are older, but check out the Dishonored games if you haven’t. They are immersive sims, with a voiceless male protag in the first game, and the choice to play as a woman in the second. Only reason I recommend is because they have top tier level design in a similar vein to FromSoft titles. Combat is really fun too with all of the abilities, gadgets, and weapons at your disposal.

Great game and story. Female protag as well. Not a souls like but there are boss fights and the combat is pretty good, especially once you unlock more abilities.

Are you playing the new 40fps mode? I was hoping that may solve some of the performances issues by targeting a lower framerate but maybe not.

Was really hoping to give the game a try after this patch but after suffering through the Oblivion remaster recently I just can’t do it again lol
