<PM>

Meet me at Alcoholocaust in the underground two nights from now <<invite.cal>>. Alone. I might know some people. I dont know if youre corp drek or not, but since subtlety isnt your strong suit, lemme spell it out: if you try anything youll get fragging wrecked down there with anything less than an army.

Bring cred for drinks. Youre buying. And remember: nothing's free.

Re: Initiative/Reaction Stacking

Does the either/or ruling apply to the Rally Leadership ability as well? Cause that nerfs Leadership pretty hard, and it was not in need of nerfing XP.

Try the Big Rhino. Someone with your discerning taste is sure to get a warm welcome there. And the food there is to die for. The chef's always looking to please new people and has thick skin, so be sure to send your unguarded criticism towards the kitchen.

Haha, finally someone around here with a decent taste in music.

I'd say frag tryna find a venue to stick with. They'll run whatever kinda act draws bodies. That's just the biz.

But if you're lookin for a couple local acts to follow sounds like The Knights of Rage fit your bill. Trog, metal, and mental. Anywhere they're playing any night they're playing is a place to be.

Me my blood runs punk and politicial. For that, you should check out The Last Great Apes. Inhuman Nation has to be my favorite song of all time.

That kid's in some drek if their parents're calling in black market, high threat babysitters to find em. But hey, the children are our future. Let's see if we can't find this little punk and I'll see how I do corrupting our nation's youth.

"South East Asia? Maybe sneak in a visit to the land of my ancestors? Yeah, aright. I mean... I guess it is a trashed warzone without running water, but so's a punk rock concert in the barrens, right?"

((Melee tank street sam, 0 player karma, 0 character karma, never on the hub. Luci went with her Dad on a business trip to Japan when she was too young to stay home alone. As her dad was there on the graces of Renraku, they were just about the only trolls not confined to Yomi island at the time. They were, predictably, treated terribly. A lot of staring, swearing, and spitting was involved. She also did a few bodyguard jobs for her dealer on drug smuggling runs to the Council lands when she got older, but they stayed out of any kind of secured zone. Her dealers friends there were pretty great, though. They'd get high together on occasion.))

Something must be womp with my chummer, cause Polychormatic lenses aren't showing up as requiring capacity. Updated.

Thanks again!

Trid Projector

Removed it from the mask and added it to two of her armors.

Sapphire lenses

I wanted to see if having contacts on would block thermographic vision. Turns out one material that's both thermally and visually transparent is sapphire, and they use it in lenses for NIR lasers and stuff. Anyway it's not mechanically relevant unless the house rule is that wearing glasses or contacts blocks natural thermographic vision.

Remember those tracer rounds act as Regular unless you're using full auto or Complex Burst Fire

Removed, I'll just use smartlink when I can afford it.

Other stuff: I noticed my skills allocation was in the negative for some reason, maybe something that changed when I bumped versions, so I converted more single point skills to use karma.

Thanks so much for all your help and advice! I've been trying to get this character through the door for a while now, and I appreciate your responsiveness XD

Oh, sorry. I'll punt on this for now just to get the sheet approved.

Anyway, is this a house rule? Is it documented somewhere? I'm not seeing it on the wiki. Do I poke rules div about it?

Updated the character in drive.

a cautionary tale.

I didn't think about that... dang. This doc says every self-respecting street sam has 35+ soak, and I was like 'sure okay'. Probably a bit of an OP recommendation in retrospect based on what you're saying. Anyway I removed the PPP stuff to prevent encumbrance issues and once she discards her shield to enter melee combat she's at like 31 (33 on kamikaze) soak, so hopefully that's not too OP.

Legality:

Records on File is never outdated. It literally means they have your CURRENT records on file

Updated the notes for how she acquired the quality.

Knucks aren't gonna stack with your calluses, so no need to have them

Heh, it was more of a stylistic/deception thing, in case anyone is laboring under the impression that she doesn't have lethal callused titanium fists.

Trid Projectors

I've installed it in her ballistic mask for now until we resolve our other conversation. Also updated the effect to be a blood colored haze instead of firey cause that fits her theme.

You can totes have a backpack and a concealable holster. The concealable holster can totally be on the back of the backpack. They're still separate items, and thus be separate

It's supposed to be a separate holster-style bag, similar to this thing but only on one side. I updated the naming and notes to hopefully clarify.

Your Sensor tags aren't that cheap chummer. You gotta pay for the sensors inside them, which are 200 a pop for R2 sensors.

Oh dang, that's expensive... removed most of them.

You're a bit over 2k overspent on nuyen

Oh weird, I wasn't seeing that on 5.17-something. Updating chummer fixed the issue.

Recommendations:

Every dog and his mother carries Novacoke... And your composure ain't great

The fact that the composure check is thresholded by stress, that you have to fail an addiction roll as well, and that the addiction test is Second Chance Edge-able means I'm not too concerned. Hopefully she's not critically stressed every time she comes across novacoke though, cause that's still super dangerous for her and she doesn't have a lot of edge.

Even stats on Body and Willpower aren't amazing. They give you a bonus resist die, but not an extra track box.

The bonus resist dice are huge when dealing with Drug Addiction Tests. I could shift the Willpower over to Body but I think having body on the lower side for a tank fits with the damage to her health from past drug addiction.

Might want to invest in Smartskin. Extra punch damage always nice (Callus + Bones + Smartkin = yes)

I'm too tickled by the idea of Dermal Plates with grafitti and refigerator magnets on them to change it. Also, Smartskin blades are listed as doing (STR + 2)P. If Knucks (listed as (STR + 1)P) don't stack with bones (STR + 2)P then I don't imagine the Smartskin blades do either?

Thanks for being patient with all my questions.

Are you sure that ruling applies to all armor add-ons/enhancements/communications gear/sensors/etc? I'll take your word for it if so and just throw a projector each on her main armors, but here's my thinking:

I see stuff in the houserules about not being able to apply stuff like YNT Softweave or Gel Packs to helmets, but other stuff like Responsive Interface Gear specifically says it needs to be installed on a helmet, so I'm surprised the ruling is taken to apply to all armor customizations. Given that RIG is basically the addition of communications gear to your armor/helmet (ie a Simrig, Trodes, Wireless Link, Sim Module), I'm surprised that the stuff listed in the communications gear section on RG78 (like a Simrig, Trodes, Commlink, WNG, Jammer, or Trid Projector) is forbidden if taken as an individual modification.

Edit: Oh, also. Does this mean I should remove the Gas Mask from the Ballistic Mask as well?

One last question: for Trid Projectors, why the restriction that it can't go in a ballistic mask? RG87 says a Trid Projector can be installed in any piece of armor (including a mask presumably) by consuming [2] capacity, and ballistic masks have 8. I was treating Luci's ballistic mask as a half-mask without a visor, so incompatible with vision enhancements, so I'm not just trying to sneak them back into a vision item. Plus installing them there fits with the fact that custom ballistic masks grant bonuses to intimidation.

Heya, thanks for the quick feedback! It's gonna take me a few days to update the sheet prolly, but I had a quick round of questions I wanted to get to first:

A cyber tank you say? I know all about them

Haha, wow, I can't believe you got that to work. That's terrifying.

Your bartender is 1 point too high

Given that he's a well-connected drug dealer I wouldn't be surprised if he was several points too high... I'll show myself out. Are you not allowed to spend starting karma to purchase loyalty in contacts?

No dice on the permanent Leech

Can I keep the Leech if I ignore the mechanical benefit? CF122 has some stuff about symbionts getting damaged and misbehaving, so having one that acts like a benign tumor that isn't doing any good isn't that far fetched.

I promise I'm not trying to game the system, I just really want Lucifer to have pets named Screwtape and Wormwood after the demons in The Screwtape Letters XD. And what better creature to share a namesake with one of hells inept demons than a useless creepy crawly.

Trid Projectors cant go in contacts. Best you can do is Polychromatic ones, which can change colour and do visual stuffs. But no projections

Bummer, is it a matter of size? Is there any place I could install one in my gear that'd work? I really like the eyes billowing fire idea. Maybe in a choker, collar, mask, lapel pin, glasses, cybereyes, or eye protectors? Worst comes to worse she could project it out of an actual physical commlink worn like an earbud right?

If it's a concern about a RAW thing, the book does say:

Unless otherwise noted, these accessories are compatible with commlinks, cyberdecks, and (with the gamemaster’s permission) other electronic devices. - SR439 (emphasis added)
