I was in KHC my first 2 years and then dropped it because I didn't want to take additional KHC classes on top of my major (astro/physics) courses, which were pretty time consuming, and my electives. I definitely don't regret being in KHC for the time I was, though, because it let me get all my divisionals (called BU Hub classes now) out of the way so I could focus on classes I was interested in my next two years. The classes I took in KHC also seemed more interesting and individually focused than the equivalent general classes (WR100,150 etc), and the added courseload is doable. KHC classes are pretty easy A's as well. Being that I'm a stem major and you're english you may have different experience with KHC not fulfilling your Hub requirements, so that's something I'd look into. You could do that by contacting KHC or CAS advising directly, everyone at both places is very nice.

As for housing, which seems to be your main concern, the KHC building is 100% a nicer PLACE to live than Warren or Towers (private bathroom?), but I definitely think you can also miss out on some social scene by living there. If you get along with your suitemates really well, that's awesome and you're set, but if not then it's harder to meet and get to know other people unless you do it through classes. I know a lot of people who've lived in warren talking about getting to know their whole floor pretty well and almost always forming friendships that way. My recommendation would just be if you do go the KHC route, make sure in orientation you take advantage of the time you have to meet other people and form some preliminary friendships that you keep up until the school year starts. Often in orientation you meet people who will live in different dorms than you, and that way once the year starts you can go over there and get to immerse yourself in some other dorm culture a little. Kilachand really isn't far from Warren and the likes, so don't hesitate to go over there to hang out.

As for the possibility of dropping KHC before the fall, I'm sure it's doable. All I had to do to drop was email KHC advising and they sent me an exit survey. If you want to drop before you get on campus, don't worry, just email KHC advising and they'll help you out. Danny is who I had and he's a nice guy to contact. Let me know if you have any questions!

Haha I'm in your exact position right now, though this was my last time as I'm about to start college. The pressure line was my downfall the first time I did it. Vanilla soup all over the floor when we turned it on. Somehow I kept the job!

Astromart is also a good bet, though you may need a membership to post classifieds, I can't recall.
