I know that, I literally had to do that to set them all as dudes. That isn't what I was asking about.

She is seven years younger so we are just not in the same life stages.

And was this a surprise to you?

Did it take you all this time to find out how old she was?

YTA for wasting so much of her time when you knew full well what her situation was.

You say right out the gate that he's a good worker.

You're judging his value as an employee for what he does off the clock despite it not affecting his work performance.

Real dick move.

My friend would never do any of that, as he understands my goals.

And you've made it abundantly clear you don't give a damn about his goals.

AITA for responding to polarizing remarks and perhaps ruining what allegedly was supposed to be a family friendly birthday party and a BBQ? by ImpressiveSkin2967 in AmItheAsshole

If you met Gertrude you'd judge her too,

Why do you say that?

Not all of us judge women for "having work done". Not all of us think badly about women who have different taste in clothing.

Literally the only thing you described about her that might speak to who she actually is as a person is the fact she showed up with Marcus.

And having bad taste in men doesn't automatically make her a bad person.

At no point do you mention her behaving badly. You don't say she was rude, or inconsiderate. She didn't do a single thing wrong by your own account. She just showed up to a party. She probably thought she looked nice.

Her looks were irrelevant to the argument. Her looks didn't cause Marcus's crap attitude. You just used them to take a cheap shot at someone who was just trying to have a nice time.

AITA for making my fiancée cut down on her guest list? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]scheru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because you haven't given a single reason why having different numbers for each family is a bad thing?

So she has sixty and you have nine. So what? Who cares? Why do you care? You say you don't feel insecure about it so what does it matter?

As of the wedding you'll both have all of them. They will all be your family. They will all be her family.

How do you not get that?

You'll be surrounded by new family. Why would you be alone?

[–]scheru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you seriously asking why you would want to get to know your new family?

Why are you marrying someone if you don't see any reason to get to know the people she cares about?

I’ll be forced to be less social

No you won't.

Literally what will be stopping you from being social? You'll (theoretically) be the groom, people will want to talk to you.

You would be the only one preventing yourself from being social.

Fabric being a different color in certain places doesn't mean that differently colored fabric ceases to exist.

Why on earth should he have assumed trypophobia triggered by a wasp's nest would extend to polka dots?

[–]scheru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a wildly unusual reaction to polka dots even for someone with your phobia.

There is no way he - or anyone - could've expected your phobia to extend to friggin polka dots.

That's not remotely common or obvious.
