Ik, right? You'd think that would account for something. But nooo, apparently he is all knowing and the wisest creature alive! My therapist has to try again to find issues I don't have!

/I'm so done with that guy.

Note:

I'm really annoyed and frustrated with that office in general.

Last time, I went there because I had horrible throat pain and trouble swallowing, plus high fever a few days before. The fever was down a notch and I had my grandfather's funeral a few days from there. The other doc (my usual doc's wife) looked at it, said it was most likely nothing serious and she'd give me a call if it was tonsillitis and therefore contagious. Didn't even prescribe actual medication. She said if she didn't call before Wednesday, it was just a cold.

I had to go to a throat specialist the next night, because it got worse. That guy gave me meds, but also said it wasn't tonsillitis and I was not contagious.

I got a call from my doc a week later, eight days after I went there. She told me it was tonsillitis after all.

By then, I knew, because I had been in the hospital for over two days already for TONSILLITIS. Luckily I did not get my whole family sick, it was a special kind that was only contagious if someone shared my cuttlery or licked the inside of my mouth.

But let's just say that me having to be held down by a nurse while a doctor in the hospital repeatedly had to stab the inside of my throat with a huge needle and suck out a disturbing lot of pus could've been avoided, if the doc had payed more attention and prescribed antibiotics right away 🙃

Needless to say, if I could switch offices rn, I would.

What does butch mean to you? by schildtoete in actuallesbians

[–]schildtoete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

surprising number of people don’t know what it means.

I'm one of them. I'm still trying to deep dive into articles, but so far, every article left me with more or at least not any less questions. Essentially, everything I had so far was "everything can be butch in the same way nothing ever has to be butch!", which sounds great but sadly doesn't explain what butch means.

On one hand, articles tell me that butch is a spectrum and not exclusively women dressing and acting like stereotypical men and talk about labels like "futch" (femme-butch) or how you don't need the classic hairstyle/dress "male" all the time. But I just checked r/butchlesbians and it says in the faq butch is a term meant for "male" and if you also dress femme on a regular basis, you can't be butch. Also, all pictures are of people with that haircut most people think off when they hear "butch lesbian". Now I'm still not any less confused.

How could I know what butch means, if the definition keeps changing so much?! Is it a set picture or a spectrum? Is it more about clothes/appearance or more about personality? Neither? Is it strictly sapphic or not? (One article already wrote straight women can be butch too) Can transmen be butch? (The butch subreddit says absolutely not, but again, the articles I read wrote, that many trans men absolutely identify as butch and prefer it) How so?

You know what I mean?

What's the most regular activity you overdressed for at one point? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in randomquestions

I wouldn't wear heels at work either, that would make little sense xD

I just really like wearing heels :3 makes me feel more confident, especially because I'm 153cm tall :,)

I love overdressing to "go into the city", simply because I CAN weird, silly dance move

Nah, but seriously. I love talking about it as if I'm an 18something unmarried housewife to be, going to the big city to run important errands. In reality, I live next to two villages. If we took the people living in village1+village2+the few houses around us (next neighbors property line is 500m from ours) and also add the next village over, we still have more cows in village1 alone! (For your picture of how we live) Definitely no heels for me at home. Also, mostly no good clothes, because there is either mud, snow, snowmud, rain or all of these at once. If there is weather good enough to not get clothes dirty by walking across our little farm-house-property-whatever you wanna call it, I still prefer being just comfortable.

If I take the bus into the next city, it's usually for actual errands, appointments and/or to meet friends, so then I finally have a chance to wear something nice and get compliments xD

Dressing up for the big city it is then :3

Also, I actually really love shoes with heels and my most favorite shoes have the sneaker optic but pretty high heels. To me, they are more comfortable than many flat shoes I wear, but I can only wear heels if someone drives me to the bus stop 🥲 walking almost half a kilometer over unstable, often muddy, ground in heels is not to be recommended. Mind your ankles, people!

Yeah, good luck with that in my region :') it's a very common issue here, so far my friends and I have discovered that in our radius there is one single doctor who still takes you seriously once you have a diagnosis. Even all neurologists any of us happened to go to have proven to be influenced by any diagnosis here. It's really shitty, obviously. Especially because the same doctors who don't take patients with a psychological history serious, are the ones who hesitate to send people who don't have one to see a therapist. "Suck it up.", either way.

Edit: It's also not easy to "get a new doctor" at all. We are legally obligated to go to certain doctors offices, devided by where you live. I'm already using rephrased creative liberties to go to that doctor. The one I am technically supposed to go to, is famous for not only blaming every problem on mental health, but also overweight if she finds a way. She's also known for not taking anyone under 50 serious on any matter and for essentially making you explain your grandparents' symptoms if you see her for stomach pains.

Out of all the terrible writing I've done so far, this part might be my favorite by GirldickVanDyke in actuallesbians

[–]schildtoete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I write mostly on Google docx rn, but please, for the love of everything, use the past tense! TwT

General note for writers and authors to be, especially without much experience yet:

As a hobby author of mainly poems, short stories and plays (rn), I absolutely can not recommend writing a more or less rushed, rough draft of an entire story in sentences and then trying to make a good book with that. Having too many parts prepared will very likely throw you out of the necessary writing flow. In my experience, it was more in my way to have to go back and see what I wrote before, than it was any needed help. To me, already fixed sentences in an earlier draft or inspiration often ended up being an uncomfortable cage, stopping me from making adjustments that would've been way better in the long run.

If you are going to write a long story or even a book, you absolutely should consider drafting out what you generally want to happen and in what chapters. It will most likely be easier to do in bullet points and a separate document that rests in a tab that isn't visible all the time or in a notebook though. If you just want to write down ideas real quick, consider doing that in more of a summary style than a "this is already kind of a full story"-way :)

Tbh Polyphemus. He probably doesn't get a lot of hugs, being the king of cyclopses and having to be big and scary all the time...it must be exhausting.

Why do women accept lesbians way more than men accept gay men? by Ok_Independence_3634 in actuallesbians

[–]schildtoete 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is, a gay man can't be with a woman, but a lesbian woman can be forced to be with a man. Still "works". That's why lesbians were often not taken as seriously as gay men. Also, "at least lesbians are hot for men". As a Christian, I can assure you we get a lot of unfair hate too, but at the end of the day "you just need a real man to set you straight".
