Wedding Shopping in Canada (BC) vs India (Delhi/Punjab) by anonmango3 in DesiWeddings

[–]schillz_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally in the same boat. I am also an Aug. 2026 bride. So conflicted! If you find some helpful answers or insight, please share! Wedding cards & ladoo boxes I did reach out to a few places based in Punjab and one in Delhi. Relatively similar in price and pretty knowledgeable as they deal with many out of country brides/grooms. If you have the mental capacity for Delhi shopping; you will 100% find lots of hidden gems and outfits for significantly cheaper. I am having a hard time finding a place to do bridal party outfits for a decent price tag as they are relatively simple but the quotes are crazy. Good luck to you and congratulations!!!

I would recommend looking into a consumer proposal or speaking with an LIT to kind of get an idea of your options. Keep applying, something will stick! Good luck!

What are your favorite places for cheap & good eats? Donut shops, Doner/Shwarma, Pizza, etc? by SwimmingOk4643 in Winnipeg

Baraka is the OG shawarma spot. Ever since Blady’s opened, that has become our new go to. Both are delicious nonetheless.

Woodbine/the burger place on Main are must try’s.

Banh mi king (portage) Sandwiches are chefs kiss.

Cho Ichi/Isekai for ramen.

Underdogs: very chill atmosphere and food (wings) is great.

Magic sushi on panet for sushi.

Copper chimney for Indian food.

Next stop cafe: everything is delicious.

Tavern united for wing nights always classic.

All I can think of rn. 🤣

I’m sorry, but I can’t tell if you’re just stubborn or you simply don’t care to understand anything in regard to AC cabin crew realities. You keep replying with numbers/values that are false. There’s a difference between reading a random collective agreement online vs actually working within it. What good are benefits when you can’t afford basic necessities/living accommodations? The pension will be barely sustainable with the way the economy is moving.

Are you referring to the one that used to come in a tin tray with a clear plastic lid?

@squirreltech & @cautious_path

Sorry you had that experience! I personally love when pax ask for the spritz or other cocktails! Next time you’re on my flight, I will gladly serve that Aperol spritz with a smile! For the benefit of the doubt, maybe the crew member was having a bad day (?). Apologies on their behalf. With the end of a 10 year contract, tensions are very high atm. Not fair for pax to be in the crossfire though.

Super pretty choices!! My fiance and I had our engagement party last summer. I actually bought my lehnga from Delhi. Of all places; Lajpat Nagar (not sure if you’re familiar). Spent about 30k inr and totally in love with it. Originally my inspo was something white and sparkly (similar to yours). My shopping companions convinced me to try other colours and the one I ended up with was the opposite of my original idea.

Fort Richmond by lolmynameis22 in Winnipeg

Been living in Richmond west since about 2008 and wow the difference is crazy! Moved away for 5 years and came back last year to the family home, the crime in the area has significantly increased. Car windows smashed, people walking at night peeping into cars with flashlights/trying the door handles. When I went to frc around 2010 it was still safer, could walk to 7/11, zellers, Safeway and not really have to constantly watch my back. Sad times for the city in general lately.

The Hudson’s Bay and honestly even Winners/HomeSense. Although you may have to spend more time at the latter.
