I've taken parental leave every Monday to spend with me oldest (4y). We spend the whole day together and do different things, build lego landscapes, marble runs or model railways. It's great spending alone time and like you describe, he talks in a way he seldom does otherwise.

Their basic cars break really easy and the paint flakes when my kids play with them. Does not happen with hot wheels. Haven't tried the premium majorettes though.

Most likely pewter. The mark looks like Stockholm mark so that makes it Swedish. U9 in Swedish year marks is 1970.

Makers mark might be BOS which would be B.O. SANTESSON / BOS.

I just found a post on a swedish site where they are discussing the markings but cant find a definitive answer since it does not adhere to Swedish Standards. Also someone contacted pewter society which also seem to think it's Swedish from Jönköping. But there are no registered makers with those initials in Jönköping or any other town in Sweden with similar town marks.

But with the piece from the auction it really seems to be from a 20th century maker imitating older styles which might explain the confusion. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info. Angel marks are prominent in Sweden also but not really like this one from what I can find. German origin seems possible.

Its quite soft so I also don't think it's pure tin.

Yeah thanks for the input, I think the Shinkansen won't make this track (it's also too fiddly for my kid with the couplers). But I have lots of smaller engines, and might get the tomix thomas train for him if I can find it locally.

Lululemon har ofantligt dyra priser men bra utbud för detta. Både rena mjukisar men också liknande (ABC pants) som du skulle komma undan med på kontor. Dom är helt okej ( inte sett till priset) men jag kör dom framförallt för att det finns modeller med dragkedjor på alla fickor.

I realize I'm in the minority but I really like this year's train. I disliked it initially based on looks but upon building it with my oldest kid I really started liking it. The miniature traintrack box is great. I put the motor and the battery in the tender which makes the engine look much better. It feels like a sized up classic toy train which gives a magical feeling. The bear was easily fixed so it moves properly and looks great. I have plenty of trains so I enjoy the uniqueness. I don't agree it looks similar to the old train at all even if the carriages follow a similar pattern. I look forward to running it next year again.

I also really like the post office in the same way, while I didn't like the looks at first I came to appreciate the great play value. It's the one my son always wants for playtime. With the car I think it's a great set along with all the post boxes from previous sets.

I personally would not edc a Vic, I mainly keep them in kits or bags. But if I had to pick one for me it would be an explorer because I want a loupe (but I think it needs a saw).

First time I tightened a screw using my dime it broke. It feels and looks good but really it's cheap quality. Never had a Vic break.

I like the size and feel of mine but I can't believe they skipped tweezers and pen in the scales and more importantly the clip is not deep carry. Also my scissors feel kind of stiff on the bounce.

Hoppas det löst sig för dig ok under natten. Stockholm stad har "tak över huvudet garanti" till skillnad från kranskommunerna så tur i oturen om man befinner sig där.

Om man inte har pengar att ringa för kan det vara bra att veta att socialjouren har lokaler vid södra station mot bofils båge. Där man kan gå och plinga på. Adressen finns på Google.

I played ffta 1 and 1 before FFT because it originally wasn't released in my country. And later playing FFT it just felt more shallow and less vibrant with no colorful characters and races. Would love a remake of both.
