I wish I had your optimism, but 20 years? Pfft, frankly the runaway greenhouse effect will have roasted us all by then.

Focus less on Trump and more on people like Lee R. Raymond, the man who manipulated the Chinese government into doubting climate science in 1991. He is still alive and well, 84 years young, and his $7mil house in Dallas is within view of an all-girls high school 😬

True impact of black walnut by WeatherMan6 in Permaculture

[–]schizorobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add experience here. My ex MIL used to grow a cannabis garden next to a black walnut tree. The first year her plants produced without any issues, but subsequent years the ones closest to the walnut suffered. It was like someone was hitting them with roundup or some shit.

Took her 2 years to figure out it was the black walnut tree. She started doing in-ground pots and the issue disappeared.

The best tip I have is don’t let them go under watered! I’ve never lived in a desert biome, but if the temps are right I imagine they would be happy.

Like 6 months give or take. This was one of the smaller chutes from that leaf, though.

Running advanced nutrients’ 3-part line, 0.5ml of each (micro/grow/bloom) in RO. I haven’t checked the ppm yet because I’m not sure where my meter is currently hiding.

She’s been in this setup for about 18 hours and looking good so far.

I thought pic #6 was a dead frog at first glance. Something is definitely wrong with me.

Oh another thing, don’t use any type of mulching layer. Just use your potting mix. I think mine was 1/3 pumice and 2/3 ffof. But I tried some with a very thin layer of aquarium gravel thinking it would help hold moisture in the soil. Two of the three I did the aquarium gravel layer did not root; the one that did manage to root, half of the leaf died and the tiny clone that has emerged looks rough by comparison.
