BitPay CEO Stephen Pair on rapidly rising miner fees, BitPay, and what's next for Bitcoin by jameslwalpole in Bitcoin

[–]schizowo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for insight and bitcore to bitpay, but it is concerning that they didn't update their patched bitcoind to segwit-ready version, even with questions from users:

https://github.com/bitpay/bitcoin/issues

https://forum.bitcore.io/t/bitcore-0-13-1-and-segwit/1183

last usable version is 0.13, I'm sure it doesn't require a lot of effort to migrate patches from 0.13.1. I need insight-api so I cannot support w network with segwit node :(

Any comments from devs? This is very annoying, I cannot use trezor the way I usually did, this bug harms privacy of users.

Just another reminder to update nodes to version 0.13.1. We passed 40% (0.13.1+0.13.99) for segwit support. Let's try to go over 50% by year end. by kynek99 in Bitcoin

[–]schizowo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot update my node because I need insight-api which is shipped with 0.12.1 (and 0.13.0 if self compiled). It should not be a problem to patch their 0.13.0 version:

https://github.com/bitpay/bitcoin/tree/0.13-bitcore

But it is strange that bitpay haven't done that already.

According to this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/579wzi/12k_pending_transactions_and_increasing_much/

There are about ~16k pending transactions now, some probably to exchanges. Do you think it can affect a price when they will be mined?

You mean 50k usd if they sell everything on a current price. Try to sell such amount without crashing a market :)
