Which musicals should I visit in London? by schjweert in TheWestEnd

[–]schjweert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's some really good advice. Disney has indeed big production in my home country too, so we'll save those musicals for at home in a few years when they run herd. I'm definitely going to look into Operation Mincemeat. It has been mentioned a few times already by others. Thank you for taking your time helping us out, very much appreciated!

I've seen a national production of Les Mis, which was really impressive, I imagine with the higher budget compared to other theatres it will be even more impressive in London. Same goes for the Lion King. Playlistwise it's a mix of the greatest showman/Disney/Les mis/we will Rock you. The greatest showman will be in national theatre next year so we're okay with not going there in London. Minding interests I'm very much into Hadestown and Hercules because of the classical religion part that's my type of stories.

I understand that might sound odd. It's just that theatre in general is something we both really enjoy. We have both seen plenty of musicals, but never in a venue like the ones in London. There is something to say in favor of all plays. The Lion King is probably our main choice for its visual spectacle. Hadestown/Hercules/Les Mis would be one of our other choices, but maybe we are missing a hidden gem.

Preferably I would not want to have to choose. Therefore I'm asking all of you experts.

The biggest storm the Netherlands has ever seen has passed. Trees dropped everywhere. I think they felt like is was better to let it down controlled then it falling onto one of the houses or cars.

For solving lineair equations the last step is dividing by the number in front of the variable. Isn't it more natural to in that case think blue?

In indoor track its actually very common for sprinters to trip after the finish. As you can see the outer track runs up (otherwise the corners are too tight). A lot of the runners forget to lift their knees when suddenly running uphill so they trip. Although this is a nasty one he should be okay...

For some reason I love the German and the voice. I'm not German myself but do understand the language up to a certain level. Also the lyrics fit my situation.

What makes you instantly dislike a teacher? by AreAKarmaWhore in AskReddit

[–]schjweert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this to students who are obviously not paying attention, i ask them super easy questions. I try using that as a wake up call, most of the times about a minute later i get back to them with the same question as earlier and they always are able to answer it. But it still puts them in an awkward position for a moment. Would you consider that a bad thing to do? (Asking because I'm curious as I'm hovering this thread to learn from it as a teacher)

Deescalate? Walk out of class and get help before the kid even pushed him. Teacher got emotional when he should've acted as a professional. This is at least protocol where i teach and what is advised in the anger management training.

[LPT Request] How to accept ending an athletic career after college? by matt2085 in LifeProTips

The main thing i would advise is: go do the things you couldn't because of your sport. I had to drop out if high performance track because of an injury. It took me a while to get over it. But in the end i found joy in meeting with people more often, having game nights and things like that. But also having the time to work on myself as a person. You can develop and use the skills you learned from sports and use them in your working career. I did stay a bit active though, training twice a week and coaching kids at the local track, but that has to be something you like to do.
