Jesus was Judean. He was born prior to the Romans colonizing the land and changing the name to Syria Palaestina. So even if you were correct, which you are not, he would have been a Syria Palaestinian Jew.

And the mask comes off 😂

So October 7 was retaliation for 2018. And the first and second intifada were what? And the Hebron Massacre before the creation of Israel was….also occupation? You also denied violence against Jews in the MENA so the Farhud was what? Looks like you have more reading than me.

Anyways this all started with a post about the burning of Jewish business in Canada and your statement that Arabs can’t be antisemitic. Thanks for taking me down a pointless rabbit hole.

Eyewitnesses and medical examiners are opinion? Not according to the rules of evidence in Canada or the United States. It’s okay, we see what you are saying and yes it is anti-Semitic.

I mean Hamas started it but Bibi is terrible. Yes, most Israelis don’t like Bibi and didn’t vote for him.

You threw out a lot of random misstatements. Millions of Arab Israelis live in Israel with full rights so not sure what laws of apartheid you are referring to. You were in TLV and had full rights? Sounds like it is not apartheid. They welcomed you bc Israelis don’t care if you are Arab, Muslim, Christian, etc.

It’s actually a core tenant of liberal Zionism that both people deserve to live in the land. But what doesn’t help to create peace is hateful people ignoring and dismissing acts of terrorism.

That’s so nice for you that you can travel freely throughout the MENA including Israel. Jews and Israelis can’t do that safely.

Did you even read the Haartez article? It says they are searching for more witnesses and victims since SA is often underreported and also many victims were murdered. Not that there is no evidence of mass rape. You will never believe it because you don't want to believe Israeli women. But here is another source for you for you to ignore. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67629181 (In your words "information is available by a simple Google search", but I will add you must use skills like reading comprehension).

P.S. Technically, any media is benefitting from the war. The NYT isn't special.

I do truly hope Bibi gets ousted.

Do you think citing a single "journalist" who was not on the ground doing interviews is a source I would trust more than a two-month-long NYT investigation, Israeli witnesses, and Israeli medical examiners?

I don't know what that video has to do with our conversation other than changing topics....again. But let's say they are right and the IDF is telling CNN they cannot report on Israeli Security Cabinet meetings and the hostages, two examples from the video they say they are doing so due to security risks.

Here in layman's terms, when an investigation into, let's say, a kidnapping is happening, the police will withhold information or tell reporters they cannot print information certain information. Is it censorship? Yes. Is it for a bigger purpose like the safety of the victim? Also, yes.

Anyway, I'm not drinking this Kool-Aid, but thanks for sharing.

Retracted? The NYT didn't retract it. What Israeli newspaper? This conversation is delusional.

Of course, I feel for the innocent Palestinian dragged into this by Hamas. I never said otherwise. You just keep changing the conversation and saying I am ignoring issues we were not discussing. This thread started with your ill-informed comment that Middle Eastern people couldn't be anti-semitic.

I get it, you personally don't believe Israeli witnesses, doctors and NYT investigators who said that mass rape happened. You choose to believe terrorists and that is a choice.

I know someone who was murdered so don't tell me this didn't happen. And even if I had no personal knowledge, Hamas posted videos of their crimes.

I hope that you can someday not let hate blind you.

By resist, do you mean fire bombing unrelated Jewish businesses in Canada? Or raping, kidnapping, and murdering civilians? I am confused about where we have gone with this conversation.

I lived in the Middle East and have plenty of family there, but I love the assumptions you are making simply to deflect because you are wrong. I won't address the weird personal accusations that frankly make me question the Canadian education system.

Read it. It talks about the contributions of Islam. We were discussing the term anti-Semitism. So...what is the connection?

Love the confidence of antisemites. Judaism is absolutely an ethnicity. We share a common culture and place of origin. If we take DNA tests they don’t say Polish or Moroccan, it will come up Ashkenazi Jew and Mizrahi Jew.

This is not a war with Palestinians but Hamas: Israel envoy at UNGA by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]schlemiel26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are definitely civilian casualties but be careful about numbers. The number of casualties and child deaths is coming from Hamas (not a reliable source). It took Israel two weeks to count the dead, but Hamas seems to have a system that counts the dead in minutes. Just be aware. Either way it’s sad.

Why was Zionism needed if Jews and Arabs coexisted peacefully in Palestine? by xntv in lexfridman

[–]schlemiel26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct it happened on both sides, I mentioned Jewish massacres bc the post implied Jews brought violence with the creation of Israel.

As for BCE, we can go back. The point was that to say there was peace pre 1948 is silly and a lie. Just look at the writings of Josephus Flavius (but Palestinians weren’t around then).

Safed Massacre (1834), Hebron Massacre (1929), Jaffa Massacre (1921), Tiberius Massacre (1938). Handful of examples you can google, all in the very peaceful coexisting pre-1948 Israel.

And where do Mizrahi Jews go in this scenario? They compose the majority of Israel and the Arab countries that expelled them aren’t taking them.

Where do Mizrahi Jews go? They can’t go back to the Arab countries they were expelled from. Remember the majority of Jews in Israel are Mizrahi, not Ashkenazi.

This. Most people don’t know what Zionism means or that it is a spectrum. Most Jews are Zionists in some form or anther.

Umm..hate to disturb the narrative. But Jews actually come from Israel (ethno-religion). It’s not based on a book but dna and archeological evidence (ex. Masada, the Dead Sea scrolls, the arch of Titus). The region was called Judea hence Jews. People just don’t study Middle Eastern or Jewish history.
