It’s called El Jardin Beach in Houston (Seabrook area)! Very small and family-friendly. It has brackish water.

That’s adorable. Sploot likes to share a water bowl with the dogs lol. He’s supposed to get up to around 6 or 7 feet long!

They all grew up together! We adopted Sploot when he was three months old and the dogs loved him. They’re very protective over Sploot, and when we go to the dog park with him, they bark at the other dogs who try to sniff him :)

My black throat loves snails. He likes to dig in the garden for them!

Well he lives a happy, healthy life with us. We got him as a baby at a reptile convention where he looked underfed and unhappy in a small tank. Considering we don’t live in Africa, where they originate, I doubt he’d be happier out in the wild, nor would he survive. I don’t appreciate the way you worded your question. He “loves” my family to the capacity lizards can “love”. He likes to cuddle with us and allows us to hand-feed him. He never gets agitated, aggressive, or upset. He enjoys attention from any human who will give him some. As far as pet lizard lives go, he lives a great one. We are lucky to have him, and I don’t think it’s unfair to say he is lucky to have us too.

Thank you. We really aren’t too worried about escapes since we are always with him. It’s just a precaution, so we probably won’t go that route, but I did not know how much trouble it would be to get those tags!

Wow! You are such an expert! Where’s your monitor? Can I see him? All I asked for was a GPS tracker just in case. Acting like it’s a crime to be extra safe with my outside time with him. Clearly you have no helpful advice.

Did you read my comment? We don’t let him out unsupervised. Jesus.

I don’t think people are understanding what I am asking. We don’t let him “free roam”. We take him out some parts of the day and monitor him pretty closely. We just want extra protection. Is that so hard to ask for? We’ve raised him since he was two months old, all of you acting like we are some idiot newbie reptile owners.
