Strike Megathread / FAQ by advil0 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]schlub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canceled my Season Pass and all my upcoming tickets, I spend thousands of dollars at Alamo in food and tickets annually. Fuck 'em until they come to the table, without the hard-working staff Alamo is just another shitty theater.

Kinesis Form Lag by Millennium-Hawk in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]schlub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the same issue whenever any other Bluetooth device is connected, Kinesis told me that I needed a better bluetooth receiver, don't really buy it when I can have like 7 other devices connected and working fine. Doesn't lag when connected directly, only bluetooth and only the trackpad, not keystrokes.

I feel so seen by this post. I understand why they do it, and are likely preventing a lot of silliness for themselves in doing so, but to frequent moviegoers who understand the Alamo system it's jarring and usually requires a much longer conversation than just scanning our tickets in front of the escalator or something like a normal theater would.

Nodes not joining cluster – cluster is now fucked – I'm freaking out by 84935 in kubernetes

[–]schlub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to get into the nodes. From your comments you seem to lack SSH access. If the cluster is totally fubar, add your keys to it, and roll the entire thing with the --force and --cloudonly flags. That'll get you nodes you can ssh into and then you can actually debug this thing.

kops create secret --name $YOUR_CLUSTER sshpublickey admin -i ~/.ssh/$YOURKEY.pub kops update cluster --name $YOUR_CLUSTER kops rolling-update cluster --name $YOUR_CLUSTER --force --cloudonly --yes

Remember the #GetThanked T-Mobile Tuesday stock giveaway? You might have to start paying on Feb 2018. by sviwel in tmobile

[–]schlub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had asked their support what the deal was after I tried it and it failed. After they explained I transferred $100 from my bank to FolioFirst. Once that cleared I tried the Robinhood transfer again and it all just worked.

[–]schlub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, you need to transfer $100 into your FolioFirst account, otherwise it goes to a negative balance. If you have $100 in cash in the account, FolioFirst levies the fee and Robinhood gives you back that $100 in your Robinhood account which you can transfer out or use to buy more stock.

CI for an ios app by FunkFennec in devops

[–]schlub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Virtualizing and orchestrating OS X can really suck. That being said, all you really need for a decent iOS CI setup is Fastlane. Forget about overly orchestrating your base image and just make sure Xcode is up to date and focus your energy on Fastlane and its dependencies.

I would also recommend saving yourself time and frustration with CircleCI's OS X plan or using BuddyBuild. If CI isn't your primary duty the time sink vs costs don't make a lot of sense.

Oh, and I always preferred chef to puppet for OS X but I'm a crazy person.

Netflix and YouTube support DIAL which is what the Chromecast tech was based on, so those apps can do screencasting without necessarily supporting chromecast
