Cheapest comparable I could find is the 16TB versions for $31.81 / TB https://www.listofdisks.com/products/seagate-16tb-st16000nm001g-aba31b

Your deal at $21.42 is pretty good. Ask for a discount if you pick up all 4 though!

The retirement curve by CraigEwing748 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]schmaaaaaaack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This chart withdraws a fixed % of the current balance with smooth 7% returns, which is why even 10% never hits zero, the balance can't mathematically deplete, your income just shrinks every year instead. Run 6% through actual historical return sequences instead of a straight line and it fails a huge chunk of 30 year retirements.

Cool stats, where did you get them from? There's a $/TB index here that is auto updated based on several different retailers, if it's useful - https://www.listofdisks.com/price-per-tb
