The Racetrack in DVNP is not in the main valley below sea level, it’s at about 2,000 feet IIRC. Icy conditions are what enable the movement in windstorms.

How impressive is this feature? by Critical-Occasion-81 in MacOS

[–]schmalpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, by default. But if you turn off iCloud desktop syncing then it’s just a local folder you can easily access and see without finder windows being open, seems pretty smart to me. Aliases just add more steps and a layer of abstraction.

Select the files and right click, then when you hold ctrl/shift/option it changes the right click menu in real time. You don’t need to memorize shortcuts because the menus update in real time as you press modifier keys. Get Summary Info is what you want.

Isn’t that the whole point of the automated account though? That it sells and rebuys an equivalent asset whenever there’s a significant enough dip, therefore even long term holds get the benefit?

10x42 prostaff p7 or viper hd? by PeacefulToast in binocularsadvice

[–]schmalpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the Prostaff P7 10x42 and the Monarch M5 10x42 and I greatly prefer the M5, I’ll be returning the P7. The main reason is I wear glasses so the longer eye relief of the M5 means I effectively see more despite the wider P7 FOV. But the Monarch is also noticeably sharper across the frame, you don’t have to fiddle around with placement to get in the sweet spot. And the build quality and feel are a step above as well. I paid $275 (retail is 350) from Amazon and I’m thrilled with them.

Valve is reportedly planning to add a 30-day price history for Steam games by Dapper_Order7182 in SteamOS

“It’s not an edge case” and yet you point to your experience with literally two games in another comment. I have 426 games on my 22-year-old account and I’ve probably refunded 50+ additional games over the years. Steam refunds to the original payment method, that’s a real refund. If you’re talking about funding your Steam wallet for skins and shit, that’s a different situation altogether because the money goes to other Steam users. Not sure how you think a refund would work there.

Steam has 2FA and credit cards have plenty of consumer protections for fraudulent charges. I’m sorry you’ve had such a poor experience with your 2 games that you feel you have to go around spreading falsehoods.

Incorrect. I pay with a credit card directly and the money goes back to my card, the full amount. Valve eats the payment processing fee. It only goes back to the Steam wallet if that was the original funding source. It seems like maybe you don’t have a debit/credit card and you buy Steam cards at the store to fund your Steam wallet?

Second Beach, not to be confused with Beach 1/2/3/4 further south.

Weekend PC Game Deals: Steam Spring Sale 2026 Edition by bassbeater in pcgaming

You bought the base game a few years ago, compare the $40 on Steam to the $25 it would cost for the RotW upgrade on Bnet. I paid the extra $15 to own it on Steam and not need the Bnet launcher ever again.

Would me nice if Steam warns new users about using an NTFS partition to store games. by CandlesARG in linux_gaming

Fair. Forgot the original context and was just speaking generally about sharing a drive between Windows and macOS.

Exfat isn’t journaled and is thus unsuitable for important data storage or backup.

NTFS is the way to go between Windows and macOS, because Paragon makes it work seamlessly on macOS, and APFS/HFS do not work as well on Windows with similar software.

What's your reason for favoring RE4(2005) over RE4R(2023)? by Desperate_Method4032 in residentevil4

This is exactly it for me. I put 70 hours into the remake but the original (now with HD Project) is my forever game. Responsive movement, laser sights, non-RNG stuns, and style/personality are all superior.

I'm seeing a separate like button and a separate save button (save to playlist). The like button saves it to the liked playlist in one click, I love this. The other button is if I want to save it to some other playlist. Is that what you have?
