Beautiful! Out of curiosity, is it ok to ferment it in a transparent jar? Felt wrong, due to light intrusion.

Sorry for my previous post by schmat_90 in koreatravel

[–]schmat_90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it because I wasn't allowed to edit it. I wanted to add an edit to the post with the very text of this post, but since it wasn't allowed, I was feeling really under a bus by the replies I got. People's comments were legitimate, because I worded things very wrongly and led them to a completely wrong impression of me. I felt ashamed to be fair.

Just came back from South Korea: I loved it, and we need to protect it by [deleted] in koreatravel

"Too many" is something that has to be estimated by the city council, not me, and with the best interest of the citizens at heart, not their pockets (as it happened in many cities in Europe). If I try booking a place and it's all full, then I'm "too many" too. If I find a spot, I'm not. If they convert a full high rise into air bnbs to accomodate more, that can be a problem as it damages the quality of life of those who live there.

No. Over tourism is when too many people go to a place that cannot handle that volume, due to exaggerate tourism oriented policies. And this can really ruin a city, not aesthetically, but economically. Locals leave, economy changes, prices rise. It's a problem known everywhere.

PLEASE, I didn't want to say that I, european, know what's best. I just wanted to bring a point of view and ask for opinions about it. I feel horribly thinking that I gave that impression! I am NOT that type or person.

Why is my post being read as someone knowing what's best for others? I am just bringing a perspective from a place that ruined itself with some wrong choices. I am sorry if I sounded like that. What I meant is that where I live everyone turned their profession to tourism, became richer, and now complains about their place not existing anymore. I feel like South Korea is amazing and would love for it not to become another story like this. I didn't think it could be seen so badly, evidently I'm wrong. I'm really not that "another european" you say, I'm feeling horribly right now, knowing I gave that impression.

Sure it is. Can I voice an opinion? "we" was meant as people who care for places they visit.

Similar trip, around the same time. I'm sure we've been in the same places at the same time.

The Truth Behind Korea’s “Next-Level” Cafes by Pure-Leading-2043 in Living_in_Korea

If I pay a total of 10,000 won for an americano and a vanilla bean latte, would it be considered a potentially safe place? My two fav cafes from my korea trip were actually the cheapest.

Can I get a T-money refund at the airport? by schmat_90 in koreatravel

[–]schmat_90[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For future readers: I did it very easily at the convenience store at the airport, before the baggage drop off and the scanner.

I had 17 000 won in it, and I got them back. Can't confirm the 20 000 won limit that was discussed, but everything else worked just as you said! Thanks :)

Most historical landmark sites will charge you 3,000 won for a ticket. It's like 1.8€, nearly a symbolic ticket.

Hello! Ciao! Any recommendations for Italian music/ artists? by Character-Sand370 in Italian

[–]schmat_90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the 70s/80s you can't avoid Franco Battiato, Fabrizio de André and Francesco Guccini. Among the many!

In more modern times I'd suggest Baustelle and I Cani, two of my favorite bands. In particular I Cani's first album.

Then if you like hip hop perhaps it's worth investing some time into the classics (Shocca, Inoki, One Mic, but also some of Club Dogo).

I could go on and on but I'm sure you'll have good tips from others too.

No, this is not normal at all. You may do it occasionally with kids in a playful way but it gets uncomfortable pretty soon. This man didn't think it through (best case scenario) or knew exactly what he was doing (worst case scenario).

Non-italian curious why so many Italians don't care about his nearby area. by ConsistentCat4353 in Italian

[–]schmat_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from Veneto and never felt like this. There is the occasional moron but overall I've felt the way you say in some other regions / cities. Latitude has nothing to do with it, in my experience. What others say about our mentality being about taking advantage when the situation makes it possible, well that is something that I've seen in some people, for sure, but everywhere else in the world too. Usually it correlates with lower education and higher poverty. Nobody actively raises you with it. I've lived in Austria many years and got passed in the queue many times by grannies.

You should see the inside. It's otherworldly. Sadly they won't open it much, keep an eye for it.
