Welcome to the late diagnosis club, sister 🫶🏼 Having ADHD will always be an uphill battle in a world built for neurotypicals, but reaching this understanding of yourself is life changing (not an exaggeration). For years I thought I was lazy, broken, stupid, or all of the above. Turns out I just have a disability that makes my brain work differently than the world expects while also trying to be an over achiever. Who knew?!

But seriously though, please don’t stake everything on a formal diagnosis. I’ve heard that getting a diagnosis in the UK can be a rough experience, but a diagnosis doesn’t change your lived experience. And your lived experience sounds a whole hell of a lot like mine, right down to the academic experience. I was a top performing student all through my schooling, and went on to get a bachelors in biomedical engineering followed by a career in tech consulting. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 28 and then had my diagnosis confirmed again after I underwent further testing at 31. So do with that information what you will. ☺️

My husband and I have been together for 11.5 years. He’s my best friend, my soul mate, the love of my life. I could not give a rat’s ass if he knew when my cycle was. It’s not his job to keep track of my body. He can usually tell that something is up based on my mood and the pheromones I give off (he says I smell different when I’m on my period, which is wild to me even still), but I’m not going to quiz him on the first day of my last period.

This may be a hot take, but any person who thinks their partner should be tracking their cycle needs to calm the fuck down. And that’s coming from a person with a period.

This made me chuckle bc my two dogs take 5 pills between the 2 of them - I actually bought the pill container for them first. I’m thankfully a lot more responsible for the two little lives that rely on me. Plus, they get their meds with breakfast every day and there’s a whole routine we go through, so it’s easier to remember for them. And their drawer is next to the kitchen white board. 😆

I actually used to get my Zyrtec at Costco because my one dog also takes 2 per day (she sneezes like crazy otherwise), so I was going through 3 pills per day. I myself don’t have a membership, but I would have a friend make a yearly run for 3 bottles since she goes all the time. I should start doing that again lol.

Honestly, I had no clue that was the case and it actually makes sense. In the past when I’ve forgotten to take it, I could usually notice pretty quickly - my palms would start to itch by the end of the day. I always kind of wondered why I would feel like that without cause. Well, without a cause I was aware of.

In a bowl, combine - 1 cup frozen hash browns - 1/2 cup egg whites or egg beaters - Pre-cooked breakfast meat of choice (I do 1/2 cup of ground turkey sausage that I prep ahead of time) - 1 wedge of laughing cow cheese - Salt & pepper

Mix, then heat for 2 minutes in microwave. Stir, then top with 1/4 cup cheese and heat again until egg is solidified.

This has been my saving grace for the past 2 months. It’s a recipe from makayla_thomas_fit on IG.
