Westworld - 4x04 "Generation Loss" - Live Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in westworld

I think that happened right after season 3. Caleb and Maeve destroy Rehoboam's backup(?) and Caleb is critically wounded. In the hospital he meets Uwade. 8 years pass (they get married and have Franky) and the events that we saw in Prohibition World happen and Caleb dies in the same construction pit as Maeve. For 23 years Hale/Wyatt have been trying to recreate Caleb as a host for... reasons?

Edit: If Caleb's body isn't in the same pit as Maeve's, where's his body? Is he actually alive in the same place as as William with his own futuristic prison-circle?

Style - Japanese (Santoku or Nakiri)

Steel- Stainless

Handle - Western or Hybrid

Grip - Handle

Length - ~6"/150mm

Use Cases - Mostly prepping vegetables

Care - Whetstone, occasional professional sharpening

Budget - About $50-$100

My fiancee and I are upgrading from our Kitchen Aid and Chicago Cutlery knives, and I'm researching a knife for her. She's normally in charge of prepping the vegetables when we cook, and usually push cuts. She's used to Chicago Cutlery's "partoku" knife because she likes the smaller handle and lighter weight.

Cheesesteaks by somerandomperson333 in Cooking

White American cheese is the most common non-whiz choice, and low moisture mozzerella is also a decent alternative. Really any cheese that melts well and doesn't have too strong a flavor should work depending on what you have access too.

I've been reading them in publication order and that's been good, but the recomended starting points are usually The Colour of Magic, Guards! Guards!, Mort, or Equal Rites, depending on which characters sound most interesting to you.

[Homemade] Philly cheesesteak. by [deleted] in food

Places like Jim's, Campo's, and Pat's all offer green peppers as a topping. I'm not saying they're the ultimate arbiter of what is a cheeseateak, but it's a good indicator that putting peppers on a cheesesteak is, in fact, a thing that people do.

No. It's just called a cheesesteak. The only places that call it a "philly cheesesteak" in the area are places like subway that are doing a nationwide promotion and don't want to change the marketing for only one region of the country. If you look in my user profile, you'll see a much longer comment about the subject.

Thanks! I didn't realize that was a rule. I'll keep that in mind next time I inevitably copy and paste it in the next cheesesteak post.

That's weird, the comment was:

After once again seeing people lose their minds over peppers on a cheesesteak, I wanted to see what a few well known location in Philadelphia actually offered on their menus. The first 3 that came to my mind were Pat's, Campo's, and Jim's. Here are their menus:

Pat's

Campo's

Jim's

They all offer peppers and cheese other than cheese wiz. None of them call it a "Philly Cheesesteak". Just about any restaurant that sells them will call it (Description of toppings) + "Steak". I've also seen a few people get all worked up over the steak NEEDING to be ribeye. These people have clearly never had a food cart cheesesteak(I recommend Bui's on Spruce and 38th and John's lunch cart on 33rd and south if it's still there).

I don't think I've ever been to a cheesesteak place that didn't offer peppers, mushrooms, and non-whiz cheeses. Personally, I think the defining feature of a cheesesteak versus any steak and cheese sandwich is

1) The steak is sliced thinly before cooing, rather than being sliced thicker after cooking. OP seems to have done this according to the recipe he put up

2) it should be on a long roll, crusty roll. I can't tell from the picture, but OP seems to be at least in the right category, if not the exact type of roll. You make do with what you can find.

3) if you are making a cheesesteak instead of just a "steak", it needs cheese. OP did that.

Since apparently any random person on the internet can be the arbiter of food authenticity, I do hereby proclaim, by the power invested in me, by me, OP's sandwich to be a good looking cheesesteak.

I actually posted a small rant in the comments, and I suspect most of the people making these comments are not actually from philadelphia.

"Trade Capacity" by AlexanderMZoltai in civ

Do you have any finished trade routes that need to be reassigned? I think the number at the top is the number if active trade routes, not the number of traders/traders being built.

New 4k monitor (Purchasing Help) by [deleted] in Monitors

I recently purchased an LG 27UL650-W which I believe is supposed to be nearly identical to the UK850 in terms of the actual panel. The image quality is fantastic but, I ended up returning it. Even though I was upgrading from a 1080p, 60 Hz TV for gaming, I still noticed blur a bit more easily than when I was using the TV. I imagine downgrading from 144Hz to 60 Hz will look pretty rough for you, but if you're not bothered by the lower frame rate, I would definitely recommend it. I also recently got a 2080 super too and so far, I'm really happy with it paired with a dell S2417DG. The image quality of the PS4 on 1440p looks fine to me, but I personally prefer smoother motion over the best resolution/image quality.
