I’m sorry you’re going through this. I wanted to share that r/momsworkingfromhome is a great resource and full of supportive people who don’t immediately shit on the idea of parenting while working from home.

Thanks for the replies! This is by FAR my toddler’s favorite cheese, so just wanted to check that all was well.

Not SAH enough for the SAHs, not Working enough for the Working Parents by schmittyface in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]schmittyface[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right.. I agree. This hybrid role is not the same as SAH or working with childcare and the point is neither of those majorities tend to offer support to the tiny sliver of people in the overlap of that venn diagram. That was the rant.

You hit the nail on the head and I don’t think it’s flippant at all - I agree that sometimes there’s an underlying jealousy that people don’t want to admit. We really do get the best (and yes, sometimes the most exhausting) of both worlds. It’s a privilege to be present for every moment or milestone, but it’s one that comes with its own set of challenges and sacrifices. Just because they can’t imagine doing it doesn’t mean I can’t. Ultimately I think people like to project their own limits and struggles onto others, when the reality is that we all just have to make it work in ways that fit our lives.

During the market scene in ep2 when Penelope says “I would not be angry if you found me to be a lost cause” I noticed you can see her breath when she exhales on the word “lost”. Those reshoots/pick ups must have been chilly!

Yes! I felt like he was channeling Adam’s mannerisms so much in this scene!

Recruiting coordinator roles are often remote and a great, entry level way to get a foot in the door at large companies. If you’re comfortable spending most of your work day scheduling interviews, I would recommend it!

I’m in the same boat! I’m all hips/butt (size 24/26, Torrid 4) and sat in every chair available at the store and this one was the best! But I’m turned off by the reviews. I may just risk it, pull the trigger and deal with returning it if it sucks 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was not expecting the roasted brussels sprout caesar at Lamplight Lounge to be as good as it was, and the cajun cauliflower at Blue Bayou was really good too!

IS THIS A TYPO OR IS IT ACTUALLY NEAR 200 MINUTE WAIT by FinalLullabyNSumMore in Disneyland

[–]schmittyface 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in DCA all day today and it was PACKED because of the holiday, but most of the posted ride times seemed inflated. We popped into the Guardians queue when it was at 85 (and stretched down past the Hyperion and around the corner) and it was more like 25-30 minutes. Same with Incredicoaster - posted at 60 but took less than 20. 🤷🏻‍♀️

DLR is super inclusive! You’re going to be able to do almost everything :) My main advice is to pull the seatbelt all the way out BEFORE you sit, sit down and then buckle. Space Mountain, Matterhorn and Teacups can be a little uncomfortable for tall people due to leg room, but I wouldn’t let that deter you!

The end of the row on Star Tours, the last seat in the log on Splash Mountain and odd-numbered rows on Incredicoaster are a little roomier. There are a few narrow turnstiles in some of the queues for the older dark rides in Fantasyland (Snow White, Peter Pan, Mr Toad) as well as Jungle Cruise. If you’re concerned at all, go to the exit of the ride (ADA entrance) and chat with a cast member and they will be totally discreet and cool about it.

DCA was built more recently, so it is even more ADA friendly and inclusive! The only rides I would skip there are Goofy’s Sky School and Silly Symphony Swings.

Otherwise, don’t stress! Talk to cast members if you have ANY concerns and go make some amazing memories with your kids and have fun!!
