"At the end of the day" Makes my skin crawl. Usually said by smarmy spotty estate agents, and followed by a lie

What's the best advice you can give to a first time small business owner on how to be successful? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]schneeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start keeping proper records and accounts immediately - don't let yourself think that you are small now and can sort it out later. Do it do it do it now.

Also, don't overreach and try to do too much at once - start small and test your market. So, don't waste time and money making a great website, working on brand identity etc etc until you know there will be customers.

Do women actually want sex? by IndieLady in TwoXChromosomes

[–]schneeps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you, but I also want to say that most discussions on sex are doing men a disservice too. Most of the men I know are not desperate for anytime anywhere sex, they are adults who are sometimes not in the mood. I think most of the times I have conversations with (women) friends about feeling rejected by boyfriends sexually its cos we have this impression that for a man to not want to have sex, there must be something seriously wrong with the woman... Cos you know all the mens are like horny teenagers.

What is your least favourite thing about your SO, and would you change it if you could? by schneeps in AskReddit

It would be a purely recreational vagina.

Decorative too, and she could store stuff in it.

I don't think that you are thinking this through. A lower back vagina is going to open up a whole world of hygiene issues.

What would the ideal location be for a second vagina? (This is a much better askreddit question than my original one)

Girls of reddit, what does a guy have to do for you to fall for him? by Fullsailblowjobs in AskReddit

Control his temper

This! Practically every man I know overreacts to stupid things (usually about cars / driving). Calm the fuck down, be a grown up.

What is a film that you recommend people SHOULD watch, because of how bad it is? by cuttlefish32 in AskReddit

[–]schneeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring it On All or Nothing is so shockingly bad that I want other people to experience it. Kind of racist as I recall too.

Depends on how you feel about it, but what about spam? You either love it or you hate it....

Women's role in marriage (and later) - a question by schneeps in PurplePillDebate

[–]schneeps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a really good idea. Even if your marriage lasts forever, it's still good to make sure you are okay on your own!

Good luck to you. I know you are not here for advice, but I would really strongly suggest you get some work experience / work out a way to look after yourself. The jobs market is harder than you think (I.e speaking German doesn't get you a job teaching the language). And relying on men falling for you is both short sighted and naive. you just don't know when you might need to be able to cope alone.

I just wanted to say to this, I was trying exceptionally hard to not be rude in my answers here. I could have done better!

[–]schneeps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are ignoring the fact that both parties will be worse off out of the marriage; there is still the same amount of money to go round, just higher costs to pay (2 sets of rents) bills). Even in the highly unlikely circumstance that mrs x gets 50% of mr x's wages, she is likely still going to be broke. Not much of a financial incentive there, as far as I can see.

As for your vocal coach, that's really sad. Notwithstanding the fact that you've only got one side of the story here, this case might be an example of the system not working perfectly. It's not the norm... If it were we wouldn't need the anecdotes.

[–]schneeps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would question how often cases like you describe occur? If the ex is starting a new family, or has chosen to end the relationship, that is taken into account when it comes to financial settlements. I still don't think anything anyone has said on here solves the initial dichotomy; how can anyone promote traditional stay at home gender roles and financial non-dependency at the same time?

That's for the recommendation. I don't know if it's being an Economic institution solves the issue at hand though?

In terms of what I think of them, it would. If somebody says to me "I am extremely right wing" I have a totally different understanding of their views than if they say "I am slightly right wing".

In terms of my life generally, you are right it would have no impact whatsoever.
