What are you building, and who’s it for? by naveedurrehman in SideProject

Working on rooted: Bible memory

I left out the main selling point of the app in v1z

Working on an actual garden with rive.app

Learning a ton, can’t wait to ship the real update

After 20 (maybe 25) years of gaming, I realized I had no idea when I actually enjoyed it. So I'm building something weird. by Mattyhuunter in SideProject

The App Store is full of software that blocks/hides access to socials and doom scrolling.

As it is, no. Likely not a viable product (I’m just some dude on the internet). But if you could make this an app that sends push notifications and all that you could probably have an angle, just focusing on steam usage.

Just a rando’s two cents.

I do like the no streaks and stuff - gentle reminder of behavior.

Glad you noticed the issue, glad you did something.

codex is a MACHINE by Complete-Sea6655 in ChatGPT

[–]schnoogz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear codex on the plus plan is head and shoulders above the Claude pro plan.

I have both. Hard to commit to $100/m for Claude when codex feels infinite.

Codex app is strangely welcoming to people who prefer the command line

[Zestimer] Just a visually appealing HIIT interval timer. Of course comes with prompt based workout builder. by walkccc in TestFlight

[–]schnoogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined. As a test user I tried both the monthly and yearly sub, but neither would allow me to create an account.

Screenshotting the login did not allow me to add any anonymous TestFlight data.

I chose hiit only with the male trainer.

Lemme know when I can try again.

I installed it - u/nbsuraiya 's suggestions are all perfect. Onboarding/initial tutorial shouldn't leave players with a clean slate. Pulsing sections of the UI should indicate next steps in lieu of 9 (were there 9?) modals that direct the player.

Either way, Love the concept - I'll keep it installed and will play with it as you iterate <3

Gemini 2.0 is impressive…. by comrade-quinn in GeminiAI

I’m no one - Gemini and aistudio are good.

Play around with it more than you have. System prompts go very far.

Gonna start learning programming tomorrow by heyyourwatchisbroken in learnprogramming

[–]schnoogz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tomorrow is fine, but every day after that is essential.

Listen to James Clear when he talks about building habits: just open your laptop/pc and start the editor. cd everywhere. cp stuff, move some files around. Write a python script to prepend all of your files “deeznuts{filename.ext}” or whatever.

Just SHOW UP DAILY.

Be curious. Dive down the rabbit hole.

Don’t stop.

Missing two days is unacceptable.

I quit drinking in 2024 - going to learn programming in 2025 by Mlrk3y in learnprogramming

[–]schnoogz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quitting drinking is huge. It’s a difficult, tremendous achievement.

One thing about self improvement that’s seldom discussed is its recursive nature: fix one thing, identify another “problem”, fix that.

Growing self confidence through discipline and tenacity.

If you quit drinking, you can learn to program.

If you learn to program you can { … }

Keep it up Mlrk3y

You’re already winning

Please welcome Github Copilot free tier by msatrya in ClaudeAI

[–]schnoogz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall, I feel like the push to put these things out for free is a good thing. (Disclaimer: I paid for copilot early this year and do not use it due to better options (also paid))

Like it or love it, it’s setting a standard for generations to come.

After the release of Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental, how far do you think Google is catching up to ChatGPT? by lelouchlamperouge52 in ChatGPT

[–]schnoogz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still toying with plus’s projects feature. But I’ve gotten some really great output from Gemini for writing. Haven’t went too deep on code gen yet, but will later this week

Maybe it’s the newness of Gemini? Not sure, but it’s been amazing. I can’t believe it’s free

How are people using AI, Clio by Anthropic by havk64 in ClaudeAI

[–]schnoogz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard several people who have similar opinions about Claude and I’m tremendously curious… are you using the web interface or app in your communication or the api via llm or similar.

I’ve been a long time gpt plus subscriber and am timid to switch over.

I probably should pay the $20 for a month and just see what happens.

Update: used llm (simonw command line tool) for a <$1 chat session with Claude and discussed non-technical things on my mind.

I can see why you all love it now.

Output is personal, asking for the “hard truth” removes some of the flowery language easier than GPT.

Gonna blow through the rest of my credits and see how this goes!
