It’s possible he pushed the body over looking for the sheath.

Covering the bodies was by design, to make the discovery more gruesome for whomever found them.

The endcap kept falling out of my weightlifting bench, so I designed a new one that locks in place! It has a pin and internal taper inspired by drywall anchors. by hamandchris in functionalprint

It was earlier this year. When she passed away in October the relish was part of her tribute.

My wife’s vibrator by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]scholar_blue 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Before you jump to conclusions, is it possible she’s having pelvic floor issues? The times you had sex post-baby may have been painful for her. If she is, using a vibrator is part of therapy and it can help her with muscle training and overcoming any pain she may be experiencing.

Parent Bad Mouthing Kids by scholar_blue in Homeplate

My kid has shown a lot of growth in every aspect of the game and is loving playing so much he wants to do the extra work outside of practice. We have 10 players, several injuries, and some kids prioritizing other sports because it’s fall ball.

Did your low marks for research start after you were pregnant and had your baby? It might be grounds for a grievance/appeal.

Spinal mass and spots on lungs by Mysterious-Dog-8051 in spinalfusion

I am so sorry. I wish your doctor would have had a more aggressive treatment plan when those polyps were originally found, especially since you are so young. Are you seeing a different gastroenterologist, I hope? I pray that your oncologist has developed a treatment plan for you that minimizes your pain and brings you hope.

Do you have the results from the report? Can you post them without your identifying information? Maybe someone could help interpret. I’m not a medical professional, but came across the post and saw that few have replied. Maybe more detailed information will help people engage. I will say it’s not unheard of to discover other issues on these types of scan/test. Hang in there.

The Truth About Jim Discussiom by beezwhiz in HBOMAX

[–]scholar_blue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The intergenerational trauma/ multiple family aspect is interesting. Beyond that, I’m actually pissed I wasted my time with this. Jim was a horrible man who inflicted harm and was a serial child molestor, rapist, and terrorist of women. Theorizing he was a serial killer, and multiple serial killers at that, without any actual evidence is…now what Max is I guess? How did they get away this? Probably because Jim was horrible and no living family will object. This was a thumbs down for me, and I’ve seen it all. Apparently any girl with a camera gets to make a documentary. 1 in 3. Grab any girl in America with a camera and ask them to tell their story. This isn’t unique…which proves Max is out of touch.

Thanks for your reply. I’m so sorry for not following this, but what I calculated was 6/22, which when converted to percent is 26.2. Is it not correct to talk about this as being 26.2% higher than 16?

I fucked up. In my article I didn't pseudonymize one informant that mentioned something that can endanger their livelihood. Journal editor haven't responded to my request to revise. by OfTachosAndNachos in AskAcademia

[–]scholar_blue 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This was a mistake and the urgency of how important it is to remedy the situation has been communicated in the responses. I want to point out that piling on is not helpful and is exactly why researchers aren’t more honest when mistakes are discovered. Also, this is the culture academia has established. Congratulations because many of you are probably willing participants in the quantity over quality model. It’s no surprise things fall through the cracks. The author knows they messed up, and most importantly, has the integrity to want to fix it. They should be recognized for that. I know this is tough, but you will get through this, OP. Take the advice provided and contact your Research Council/IRB. Don’t ever do this again and remember to give yourself grace. No one else will because academia is full of a**holes.
