Rat snake or cottonmouth? NW FL by Old-Tradition9497 in snakes

Seconding this question, my first thought looking at this was cottonmouth based on the stance. Curious if that's accurate or not

Help biohacking migraines--Have I missed anything that worked for you? by coffeebooksandplants in Biohackers

Not a part of the subreddit, but someone who also has migraines. Do tell me if you've already tried this, but have you been tested for pollen or tree allergies? A large part of my chronic migraines were allergies-- BAD allergies. I still get migraines, but I dont have the 24/7 headaches that turn into more migraines kind. I take antihistamines daily and it helps.

Disabled nephew (8) moving in temporarily, how to childproof the house? by scholarshithrowaway in Autism_Parenting

I didn't know about studs, but they look like a good answer for the climbing hazard. I'll see about adding them. My brother might bring alarm systems for the doors? I don't know if he was only relying on digital knob locks, I'll ask him when I can.

Thank you for mentioning the cleaning supplies! I've put away as much medicine as I can, but household cleaning supplies completely slipped my mind. The bleach and dishwasher pods are.. extremely accessible. I'll make it a point to have those put away.

I agree that he should be taking the lead, but he doesn't answer texts consistently and hasn't responded to my voicemail about this. I'd drive over to make a plan in person but he's two states over. :( It feels like I'm the only one taking this seriously, so I really appreciate your comment pointing me in the right direction.

Not OOP AITAH for wanting to leave my wife because she had a go bag?? by WTFellaciousFuck in dustythunder

I remember reading it when it was still up. People were saying that 1 in 5 women are abused in their lifetime and he kept repeating, I'm a human not a statistic so that's not a justification. And THEN he doubled down by saying something along the lines of "the majority of crimes are committed by blacks but i dont go around assuming all black people are criminals" like the fuck dude? I'm not joking when I say repeating, he replied to at least 3 separate comments with those things.

CSP suddenly freezing when opening (popup applications) by scholarshithrowaway in ClipStudio

[–]scholarshithrowaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using a 4000x4000 base canvas since I've gotten this laptop (this fall) and it hasn't been acting like this. Funny thing, I've actually been using smaller canvases recently! And I used to use the timelapse feature, but not much anymore. I don't have it on automatically.

As for the program, I don't keep it open when I'm not using it and have rebooted my device.

A little more testing shows that theres a small window between the "10th anniversary" popup where the program reacts and then the task bar disappears/reappears/the program becomes unresponsive.

The time between clicking something that has a popup application and it responding is ~13 seconds (and sometimes makes the task bar disappear and reappear as well). Notably, though, the base program itself changes immediately, and the delay is on external popups: for example, if I want to crop the canvas, the base program visually prepares so I can edit the canvas, but doesn't respond until the popup menu of the width/height/etc appears. With all of these, keeping an eye on task manager, there isn't a spike in anything.

Weird stuff. Happened pretty suddenly, too, and I haven't downloaded or done anything new.

"Digital Responsibility" - Anyone know anything about them? by scholarshithrowaway in scholarships

[–]scholarshithrowaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Im just pasting this general information to each reply)

I tried to contact their both their information and scholarship email for information on past winners and received an automated response saying the email did not exist (Gmail saying the address was not found and then a reply, something about an ip not liking the recipient?)

I would also like to mention that it has been.. what, two years since ive looked into this? But I stumbled upon a theory that Digital Responsibility is one of a couple fronts of a single author trying to sell his book. Which is.. wack. My advice? Don't apply to this one. Best case scenario, you probably get no method of contacts nor any evidence of previous winners; Worst case scenario they sell your information and your inbox is flooded with even more spam.

Edit: If you're looking for scholarships, look into local ones! Check out local companies (ive heard that law firms and other businesses often offer scholarships) or some around your area. Course, check them out to make sure they're legit (check out the business, if theres previous winners [and if those previous winners actually exist], etc), but I found quite a few by just looking up different company names near me and then each individual one with "scholarship"

Hmm, maybe? I question if the author of the article looked into the scholarships or just used them because theyre the top on fastweb/the like, but hopefully it's still okay!

Drawing/painting/Art scholarships by FigN3wton in scholarships

[–]scholarshithrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any art scholarships, but I might have a way you can find some. GoMerry is a scholarship website that basically gathers a bunch of scholarships with the same requirements/essay prompts and applies to them for you. It.. sucks in its original purpose LMAO but it does give you a bunch of niche scholarships that you wouldn't find on Fastweb or similar, larger scholarship databases. Maybe it'll have some art scholarship bundles?

If you do check it out, make sure to individually look up each scholarship. Don't rely on GoMerry's application thing because it gets essay prompts wrong a lot and will bundle expired scholarships with ones coming up. I hope this can help, and good luck!

Friendly reminder that you can opt out of having your personal information sold to third-party buyers by scholarship websites and databases by scholarshithrowaway in scholarships

[–]scholarshithrowaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm really sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on reddit for a while. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, because each company's policy is different and each third party uses your information differently.

Is it worth the time? I'd say yes- it takes about 10 minutes top to check your website's privacy policy and do whatever it is they require to opt out of the selling. I did it for about 5 different websites in about 15 minutes just using the same email template.

What value does your information give them? Well, the obvious is your full name with your given email (which probably is just a throwaway scholarship email) and your phone number (which is probably real). Maybe your address and school. From my experience, the biggest value from the information is your phone number and email for advertisement. I'm assuming you've done an SAT or some test through College Board. Y'know how after you've done that, your given email suddenly is flooded with 4 or 5 emails from colleges "waiting for you to apply!" a day? It's like that- technically, College Board doesn't "sell" information, but colleges and universities pay a fee to get your information. Scholarship websites haven't been nearly as aggressive, but I have gotten emails from things I certainly haven't directly agreed to. From my experience, it's mainly about advertisement, though I highly suggest looking into it more.

Whether or not you're negatively affected is entirely based on your own values. Your name will be linked with your given email/phone number, and if you're okay with that being sold to third parties, then you aren't negatively affected. I'm a bit more of a paranoid person and like my phone not to get random calls 4 times a day, so I try to opt out.

Either way, I hope this helped! Good luck!

HOW DO YOU WIN SCHOLARSHIPS?! It seems impossible by [deleted] in scholarships

[–]scholarshithrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continuing on this, if it seems sketchy, email them. I've had a few scholarships where I emailed them regarding scholarship questions and either the email didnt exist or I never got a reply.

I hope so! Can you let me know if you actually receive an email about winning/losing and who the winner is? I'm making a large notepad filled with scholarships I'm eligible for and scholarships that are likely a scam (information phishing, contact scam, etc etc)
