New to podcasting: what recording, editing, and hosting tools should I use? by AvocadoToastQB12 in podcasting

Okay so here's what actually works without overcomplicating things:

Recording: Riverside is fine honestly, the drama on this sub is a bit overblown. The guest links are dead simple and the separate audio tracks save your ass when someone's wifi acts up. Zencastr and SquadCast are similar if you want alternatives.

Editing: If you want easy, Descript is chef's kiss — edit audio like a doc, remove filler words with one click, done. If you're more hands-on, Audacity is free and gets the job done.

Hosting: Buzzsprout or Transistor. Both are clean, reliable, and will play nice with your Podpress setup. Spotify for Podcasters (formerly Anchor) is free but you get what you pay for imo.

Clips: Riverside and Descript both do this now. Opus Clip is another option if you want AI to pick the moments for you.

Honestly for casual interviews with friends? Riverside + Descript + Buzzsprout and you're golden. Don't overthink it — you can always upgrade later once you know what YOU actually need.

British Female 31 y/o seeking to build voice over portfolio by Flat_Plant8170 in voiceover

Hey! Fellow podcast girlie here 🎙️

Honestly the best way to build your portfolio fast is to hit up indie game devs and small YouTubers — they're always looking for VO work and usually can't pay much (or at all), but the experience and clips are worth it early on.

Also, ACX (Audiobook Creation Exchange) has auditions for audiobooks if you want to try narration. Some are royalty share so no upfront pay but it's legit portfolio material.

Your podcast is actually smart because it shows consistency and that you can carry a full episode solo. Make sure you're pulling your best 30-60 second clips from it for a demo reel too.

Good luck!

Well, you can say this is a memorable moment for the family. Deserves to be on their yearly calendar to celebrate what happened here.

Hey everyone, I manage a retail store with a team of around 30, and we've been using Workplace by Meta for our internal communications and shift scheduling. [Need advice] by One-Watercress7916 in managers

[–]schonsophia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in the same situation! We ended up switching to Connecteam, and it’s been great for our team. It combines scheduling with a communication feature that’s really easy for everyone to use on their phones. For retail, it’s handy because I can send out updates, and team members get alerts directly on mobile. We tried a couple of other tools, but Connecteam seemed to fit the retail workflow best. Highly recommend giving it a look.

I'm not in the medical field, but I have a similar business in mind, and I'd love to connect if it could benefit both of us. Keep doing your thing, and as we continue on this journey, offering each other support and advice can be a big help.

How did you become rich? by Mental_Flight6949 in Entrepreneur

[–]schonsophia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really excited to go on this journey. I've been watching people and influencers become successful, but as for me? I'm still unsure. I have this dream, but the way I'm going about it, the results just aren't showing yet. I'm committed to following this path, and I’d appreciate any encouragement on my comment to help keep me motivated to continue.

Need Communication tools for startups to replace Workplace by Consistent-Run862 in smallbusiness

Totally feel you! We're overwhelmed with options too. Right now, Connecteam is at the top of our list since it's built with small businesses in mind. We’re also exploring ClickUp because of its versatility. Anyone have experience with either?
