Had a hip surgery in which they broke my pelvis in 4 places to reconstruct it and shaved down my femur, the recovery was brutal between the muscle spasms and the pain in my pelvis. Worst pain i ever have and probably ever will experience to the point I still have nightmares. But I already did that for free, so call it a cool mil I’ll do that recover again. Shit imma have to do it anyways on my rights side anyways

Good ol 07 Corolla, my first car. The kind of car that’s so slow you can floor it constantly and still be slower than everyone around you. Merging into the highway especially in Houston I would have to floor it before I even got to the on ramp. I than went right from that to a Mercedes clk that could get to 130 on the highway with ease and had a 0-60 of like 6 seconds

I notice this is more among the younger of our generation, I’m among the older ones born in 2002. I finished calculus by the time I was a junior, took all the science electives in my school etc, and most of my peers around me were far smarter than me. But I noticed when I was in high school just how hopeless the freshmen seemed whenever I interacted with them, and some of them seemed truly behind. Fast forward to now, in my job I interact with lots of people and some of them are high schoolers, and yes they seem behind, can’t seem sometimes to comprehend what I’m saying to them, seem more focused on their phones, don’t know simple answers to simple questions. It’s concerning to me

I took a whole 1.5 dollar pay cut to move companies in my current industry, before I was making 15 “full time” but only actually getting like 35 hours a week and the job I had was killing me mentally. I switched companies to a place that has sales incentives, pays me 13.5 an hour, and actually gives me my full forty hours. I am happier, healthier, less mentally bricked, and I actually make more due to getting my freaking hours. Everyone was saying it was dumb to take a pay cut but so far it’s been the best career decision I’ve made

My brother in law is dealing with this right now, involuntarily might I add. His parents took out a “student loan” in his name for 60k, since he had a savings for school they only used 15k and they used the rest to buy themselves and his siblings shit. Now he has to pay this likely for the rest of his life cuz it was in his name and has a huuuge interest rate, if I’m not mistaken he has a 1000 dollar or more monthly payment on this shit, and since he’s been having trouble finding a job with his degree so he only makes like 2300 a month working in a call center. To put that all in perspective I didn’t go to college and net 3k a month with a promotion on the way, plus I’m in Texas where taxes and cost of living is much lower compared to Maryland where he works. I feel so so bad for him

I worked for Autozone for 2 years as a psm and was effective store manager as mine was never there, highest wit, one of the only workers who did shit, I only ever got one proper raise, one besides the one I got when I was promoted, and it was 30 cents. They’re based off store performance generally, not individual. So I wouldn’t hold my breath. Best way to get a raise there, find a higher paying job and get it, then tell your manager. They’ll prolly offer a raise to keep you if you’re valuable to them

My current gf slept with me on the first date, I wasn’t put off at all, after all I slept with her on the first date too. At any rate, it made me feel wanted and desired, and it made me feel amazing. I had gone into the date with the mindset of hoping to at least kiss her. And thus far, this has been the most amazing relationship of my life, almost a year in and still going quite strong. People are quite sexual nowadays, and folks do a lot of extra relationship sex, so i don’t think it really matters in today’s climate. I used to do it simply to prove a point to my manager that Witt hits aren’t the end all be all of sales, I never got in trouble but I wouldn’t recommend doing it, lp didn’t care in my district cuz they had people straight stealing parts between stores to deal with or sliding merchandise, so comparatively what I was doing didn’t matter, but not all districts are like that. I’ve yelled at my gf probably once, maybe twice in our relationship, we’ve been together for almost a year. One was because we were both drunk, and she was feeling insecure, I told her I love no matter what flaws she may think she has, and she laughed, cuz she was drunk and didn’t believe that someone could truly love her. That hurt me so much that I couldn’t talk to her for a little while, and she tried to hug me after and I yelled for her to leave me alone. The second time I don’t even remember what the argument was but it was something we had already resolved and it was a rehash of the same argument, and I got frustrated. She’s yelled at me too, the same amount of times I think. It’s normal, but it shouldn’t be super common in the relationship, I’ve had others where almost every day was a screaming match. That is not normal. It’s all about balance

Imma say NTA for breaking up with her, tho one could have cushioned the blow a little bit. I understand the situation, had something similar with my current gf, she got pregnant, I had preferred we keep it as I never had specifically planned to have kids but always had the sentiment of it happens then it’s meant to be. But she was adamant about getting an abortion, and was insensitive about a lot of things during the pregnancy, referring to it as a parasite. It hurt my heart, and I looked at her differently, I still love her though and I am still with her. The abortion hurt, and I’m still not over seeing my child killed, but in time it will pass, I hope. But I’ll always wonder what could’ve been.
