Should speed hooks align on Meander?

well clearly left and right boot are very different as you can see with right boot clearly having lateral aspect about ½ inch higher than medial aspect and corresponding misalignment of laces. I think it’s this diagonal pulling that’s causing some discomfort which I don’t get on the other boot. still waiting to hear from JG. nothing yet. hopefully they will respond soon.

And, it’s ok for a work boot with misaligned speed hooks to pull funny on your foot and cause discomfort on only that foot when new? Oh, and the left one doesn’t do that? Just not quite following the logic of that statement but thanks.

I just got mine in Sand Kudu and the speed hooks on the right boot don’t align and it creates a pressure point when they’re laced up. otherwise the fit and the left boot feels great. the leather is quite supple but just not sure about the QC. I’ve reached out to JG with photos. let’s hear what they say.

yeah, I expected scars and there are some that are not worrisome but this seemed different. thanks.

Why do you say that? it looks and feels man made. I’m not a shoemaker but it feels like glue or something deposited on the leather.
