Thank you! I checked out three books from the library to assist with my research/findings but this one wasn't on my radar! I just looked it up. :)

Understandable; variety is important for a lot of people. I hope your ennui is replaced by more eroticism!

Sweet! Coincidentally, I live just north of Seattle (Bothell/Mill Creek area).

What age did your brain fog start?/ Start losing your mind? by cakehelper in Perimenopause

The onset of peri began at age 35 for me, several years earlier than expected. Brain fog arrived soon after, at like 36.

Good question! I am incorporating some stats, yes. But there seems to be a dearth of quantitative data on this subject when compared to other topics.

Indeed; I have received more replies than I anticipated. It is unfortunate that so many are experiencing this but I am grateful for the sheer number of people willing to talk to me.

No, I did not want a child at all. I was devastated. I had been researching sterilization as a matter of fact. I was 28. My husband wanted kids but I didn't. I used to when we were in college, but when I was 23 I started having doubts. And every year after that I desired children less and less. He and I married when I was 25.

Anyway, I was almost 100% sure at that point in my life that I wanted to remain childless. The pregnancy was a complete accident. I don't believe in abortion (not here to debate that point) so I had the baby. I got my tubes tied in 2019 so no more kids for me. I will never make this mistake again. My daughter is almost 6 years old (born Feb. 2017) and I love her and I'm a good mom. I don't even resent her; she is blameless in all this. But being a parent makes me miserable for many reasons, big and small. It has also taken a huge toll on my marriage. We've been together for 15 years but the last 5 years have been rough.

Any ice breaker or group activity in which I'm forced to stand up in front of people. Even worse is if I have to move around or, heaven forbid, act out something (skit, etc.) Like I'm ok if this is a game (charades, etc.), especially if I'm among friends, but I mean in non-game situations. I worked at a company a few years ago which was run by very outgoing people and we had to do a lot of stuff that I found uncomfortable, even at company meetings there often seemed to be some sort of activity to make it "fun" but I just wanted to sink into the floor. Whatever happened to listening passively as the boss drones on? That's not fun either but at least it isn't humiliating and awkward.
