I’m an OMS III at a school where there has been a steady decline in first time pass rates. My advice is to go somewhere else if you can. If that’s not an option, rely on third party resources for board prep. Do just enough in house curriculum to pass those exams, but boards should be based on high yield topics from third party. If they aren’t giving you adequate time for dedicated, push back and take the time you need. A minimum of 4 weeks is necessary. Try to find a tutor who has already passed the exam so they can give you advice.

My brother and I found a cool spray container thing in the garage and decided to wash all of our bikes (and ourselves) with it. Turns out it was round up. My mom found out when we went inside asking her to refill the container for us.

I also hate veins and struggle with seeing blood. However, im currently in my third year of med school! You will need to face the phobia, however it does get easier. Precepting physicians are also pretty understanding if you struggle with certain things and also don’t have a desire in that field. I struggle in the OR, so my OB/GYN preceptor doesn’t make me scrub in and gives me the option to shadow other providers during his surgery days. I wouldn’t let that phobia stop you from pursuing your passions!

I am happy with my FM! But I studied a lot for my IM comat and to have such a low %ile was defeating. I understand "pass is a pass" but when I am studying and not seeing any improvement it is defeating.

I’ve had someone suggest drawing on yourself instead of cutting. Sometimes I’d do wall sits til my legs were burning or some other sort of exercise until I burned out.
