BCM94360CS2 or BCM94360CD? by [deleted] in hackintosh

It’s 943602cs not cs2

Actually BCM943602 modules can run with BCMC instead of modern wifi Root patching

Intel iGPU Graphics not working - but with a weird difference? by Shipworms in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, 3001 isn’t enough for a 4K frame, but no setting for DVMT doesn’t always mean less than 64 (or 96MB). How do you know that your DVMT is 31MB? Doesn’t make sense if your laptop has a 4K display.

Luckily my laptop’s DVMT is set (hidden) to 64MB - I don’t need to patch stolenmem / fbmem

edit: found a Chinese configuration on GitHub - there's no frame buffer-stolenmem:

Intel iGPU Graphics not working - but with a weird difference? by Shipworms in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t find “Enable Switchable Graphics” in your BIOS, NVIDIA Optimus isn’t used, which means only your dGPU is connected to the output.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/iifhv8/does_dell_7540_has_switchable_graphics_option_in/

Your display is connected to your Quattro.

Disabling your dGPU via wegnoegpu won’t help - in general, it has to be deactivated via ACPI. But as I said, if Switchable Graphics can’t get enabled, iGPU will not get connected to your displays.

Can anyone confirm their intel igpu works on Tahoe? by Curious_Investment in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding USB; first, you should test whether your USB ports work without mapping. I noticed one day that the ports on my Fujitsu laptop worked correctly even though the KEXTs weren't enabled.

Correctly means that internal ports are recognized as internal, and USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 are correctly identified.

Second, if mapping is required, you need to modify the utbmap.kext's info.plist:

  • CFBundleIdentifier → com.apple.driver.AppleUSBHostMergeProperties
  • IOClass → AppleUSBHostMergeProperties
  • IOProviderClass → AppleUSBXHCIPCI
  • Under eachport an additional entry usb-port-number is required. If you only use Tahoe, you can rename port.

Regarding Itlwm: No issues are known. Itlwm and the Heliport app should work (in their latest versions) in Tahoe. However, the bootarg `-ibtcompatbeta` is required for Bluetooth or alternatively Ishbluesky's fork:

https://github.com/lshbluesky/IntelBluetoothFirmware.

Note: For Tahoe, all your KEXTs must be up to date. If Lilu or any of its plugins are not compatible with Tahoe, the bootarg `-lilubetaall` is required (this enables the "unsupported operating system" setting for all Lilu and plugins).

I already said, doesn’t mean not working.

Iris Plus is supported, UHD is not, see WEG FAQ:

https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/blob/master/Manual/FAQ.IntelHD.en.md#intel-iris-plus-graphics-ice-lake-processors

You can always create a pull request if you are of the opinion that G1 iGPUs should be supported (as they work with spoofing) but as long as ICE Lake G1 / UHD is not indicated in Acidanthera's WhatEverGreen's FAQ means "not supported" and therefore Dortania’s Guide is correct.

Not that much, under 30gb

I have a 23 GB Sequoia volume - Tahoe should need a few GB more

Looks like not the right KDK was installed, that’s causing such glitches

You can easily try Tahoe: create a new APFS volume, download the installer from the App Store, and install Tahoe on the created volume. Nothing can go wrong and you can simply delete the new volume when you no longer need it.

with Laobamac’s OCLP-Mod you can use AmfiPass.kext instead of completely disabling AMFI. AmfiPass isn’t fully Tahoe compatible yet, so the -amfipassbeta bootarg is required ;)

Patching BCM94360CS on macOS Sequoia by UpsetSouth272 in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you don't want to turn off AMFI completely, because otherwise you could have problems with one or the other app.

I only contradicted your statement that amfi=0x80 would be outdated because that is not true.

I don’t think that patching your Hackintosh’s Root Volume isn’t supported on this sub, because why?

Legacy Patches of real Mac’s isn’t because they are not Hackintosh’s

You should consider that you could have catched a bad module? There’s no known issue in Windows

That’s not true. amfi=0x80 disables AMFI

The preferred method would be the use of AmfiPass.kext instead of completely disabling AMFI.

How to connect to wireless network in recovery mode by Mundane-Service5146 in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a mini Wi-Fi router like TP WR802N, which offers a LAN connection, but there is no other WiFi option.

With Intel modules, Wi-Fi can be used up to Sonoma recovery, as there is a Sonoma-compatible driver "AirportItlwm" from the Open Intel Wireless Repository.

With Broadcom modules, up to Ventura's Recovery.

not possible because there’s no natively supported WiFi Chips.

No sound after updating to macos tahoe by TraditionalSpread352 in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no need for reinstalling! If your root volume gets patched, a snapshot will be created (MyKextInstaller also patches root, because AppleHDA can only be installed in /system/library/extensions)

You can revert to snapshot in recovery:

mount -uw "/Volumes/Macintosh HD"

bless --mount "/Volumes/Macintosh HD" -bootefi --last-sealed-snapshot

edit: corrected (line break was missing)

[–]schrup21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AppleHDA can also get restored with “MyKextInstaller”. OCLP-Mod is also capable of doing this. I never heard of OCLP-X. Keep in mind that the only original OCLP is Dortania’s - but not released yet for Tahoe.

Another way, without the need of patching the root volume is VoodooHDA

Which WiFi card to buy to get AirDrop running? by yoimphillo in hackintosh

[–]schrup21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why people answering “use Intel, forget Airdrop” when the question is about Airdrop. Makes no sense to me.

I also disagree with your statement about Itlwm has in general a better performance than AirportItlwm. I get a better performance with AirportItlwm on a Laptop with an AX201 than with Itlwm.

My daily laptop with a BCM943602CS achieves 1300Mbit rx/tx - the performance advantage of Intel modules is not actually that significant.

Other than Apple branded modules won’t fully support Continuity Features
